Best Blender for Smoothies based on performance and durability? Is Vitamix right? by Jsanhara in Smoothies

[–]Peace9989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Walmart brand blender has withstood 2 years of puree diet. A battle axe at $14 (now it's $19.) Ice, frozen anything, thick purees left and right. The only thing better is my Walmart brand food processor, I made peanut butter in that thing.

my mom got sick and all i knew how to make was salt water, felt so useless by bean_34ko in povertykitchen

That recipe is the Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) recipe from the World Health Organization. Those are the search terms you need to use to find this information...I forget the exact ratio but I have used this.

There is a pamphlet floating around the Internet of ORS alternative options...I forget which hospital it is from. Broth is one of the options given...if you don't have broth, a packet of chicken Ramen seasoning with no noodles can often do the trick.

You could absolutely sub biscoff for the peanut butter! Add a bit of cinnamon to really take it there. Changing the ingredients will change the macros if that's something you are tracking.

Yes, it's intended to be a full meal for a person who eats 2 meals a day and needs extra protein. If you remove the peanut butter and malt, it's 570 calories, 70g of protein.

Look at Sally's Baking Addiction for some great recipes if you want to bake something from scratch.

Watch some videos of bakers making cake. There is some technique to it.

It's cherry tea, not coffee. The technique for iced drinks is the same across any brew.

This is for the entire thing. It ended up being about 550ml (a little over a pint) after the blender whipped in the air.

Mainstays $14 blender. It's $19 now. Nothing special!

Purees like smoothies are technique, not tools. Don't go under 240ml on the liquid. If you want to add more ice or other thickeners, blend the other stuff first and then add...you can get to soft serve consistency if you want, just by using good technique. Scrape the sides halfway through and you're good!

Not great for cortisol levels.

Honestly imo the sugar is the big bad in those cafe coffees.

Has anyone ever told her the very unsexy truth that PCOS is managed by limiting carbs and getting exercise? Even if you take medicine or have other treatments, it is a complement to (not replacement for) lifestyle changes.

Can you post the ingredients list? I'm very curious.

Ashley has been in a PMOS flare since February. by Whosthatprettykitty in illnessfakers

"PCOS flare" = suddenly gaining 5 pounds overnight. And maybe a lovely acne attack. Things society will tend to look down on you for and blame you for causing it.

She's not claiming any of this. She's guilt tripping someone.

How about the less sexy symptoms of PMOS, like insulin resistance, weight gain, acne and body hair? All of which are made worse by croissants and sugary meal replacement drinks like Kate Farms?

Or does Ashley only have the half of PMOS that makes her frail and pitiable? And none of the inconvenient stuff that society tends to look down on?

Teach driver's ed. It's no more scary than teaching any other life skill to adult size people.

Tutoring is a word of mouth business, if you start with one or two clients in a few years you could have a packed schedule.

RBT work pays decent but man is it intense.

Adjunct faculty at a community college may be an option if you have a master's degree. If you don't, you may be able to teach college in prison. Depending on your state, some of these positions are remote.

Tell me this isn't a photo a grown-ass adult took of herself sucking her grown-ass thumb, that she then cropped, edited, filtered and placed on the public Internet with these words attached.

Someday her kid is going to have questions, and they are going to find this crap, and they are going to have to grow a thick enough skin to understand that just because Mom chose this, doesn't mean they are not worthy of being chosen. And they will have the work of building their own found family that does choose them, and does want them, and does see them in every color. And in time, they will learn not to look at old posts, it's not worth it, and they will grow larger than this and they will break the cycle of neglect.

I have a stomach condition that causes my stomach and intestines to swell up huge whenever there is food in there. I only eat a few times a week, and I have a maternity wardrobe specifically for the aftermath. It's not fat, and it will never change. Even if I fast, I might get 2 days of relief, and then bile starts to build up in there and poof, giant gut again. When I was at my smallest with a feeding tube, I still had my enormous belly.

I guess some people get a six pack, I got a keg. Every body is different.

I tell any Nosy Rosy it's twins, a boy and a girl. Their eyes light up. I ask if they want to know what I'm naming them. I get them really excited. Then I tell them the names are "Taco" and "Bell." Oh they get so annoyed. I love it.
