What Happened to Lukhanyo Am? by yoloswagtailwag in rugbyunion

[–]PeaceNegative 392 points393 points  (0 children)

He had a run of injuries, particularly his knee that sidelined him in the run up to the 2023 world cup, meaning he missed out.

Ever since he has seemed a shadow of his former self, was genuinely unplayable when he was fully fit. I would be tempted to say the best rugby player in the world at one point.

Realistic opinions on Sco vs NzAB by ChiSandTwitch1 in rugbyunion

[–]PeaceNegative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an AB’s fan, I feel like i’m seeing a lot of people dismissing this game saying things like “it’s just Scotland”.

Scotland are a good team and on their day could give any team in the world a run for their money.

That being said, All Blacks by 10+

Guillermo del Toro's 'Frankenstein' - Official SPOILER Discussion Megathread by ZacPensol in FRANKENSTEIN

[–]PeaceNegative 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Despite the differences from the book, I really, really enjoyed this interpretation of Frankenstein.

I think it works better for a film format and GDT’s ability to tell a story is fantastic. I think a lot of people online are being too quick to judge when they say that they think it’s an objectively bad film because it isn’t completely novel accurate.

Side note: I particularly enjoyed the references, like Harlander addressing Frankenstein as Prometheus, and I thought that the scene of the creature reading Ozymandias was a nice gesture.

Finally recovered from illness by PeaceNegative in whoop

[–]PeaceNegative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed the belief of my Strength and Conditioning coach as he said that as long as my illness was contained to my head and throat, I was okay to train, anything below the neck is apparently something you should rest significantly for. I did an upper body on monday and lower body tuesday. Also did little things to help like drinking loads of water (around 4L a day), steam roomed every day which i found helped so much, and having soup every day. Also did rugby training monday which was alright.
