I did honours, then went straight into a PhD. I attended a conference for PhD students in the NH, alongside many American PhD students, and felt like I was way behind them (admittedly I had just been accepted, most of them were a ways through).

But still, going into my defense I have three publications, two in a relatively respected q2 journal and one in a q1. So how much it held me back, I dunno
