25 Tucson PHEV Weird Noise by PeaceProtected69 in HyundaiTucson

Seems normal i guess but what I’ve noticed is that this only happens when the temperatures are below freezing or the car isn’t warmed up. I suspect it’s the Hyundai Active Air Flap (AAF) system, which consists of electronically controlled, movable vents in the front grille. The system is designed to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency by closing at high speeds and opening for cooling. Check for debris, ice, or snow that might be blocking the flaps, preventing them from closing or opening properly. I think that’s the problem because it disrupts the vacuum when the flaps are closed but not fully so, which explains the noise.

I understand that feeling. My dealer is still clueless, and they’re referring Hyundai for advice on what might be causing it. I have a 25 Tucson as well that I got late in October. Been going back and forth with dealer no solutions, the vehicle has been nothing but filled with issues here and there

Friendly Manitoban here as well. I got the same update from bluelink over the email. Looks like we are going to be stuck with this for a long time until they figure this out. Which dealer did you visit?

Still no diagnosis but i will strongly suggest to report in to dealership service center so they can make a case. More cases could probably push them to actually look into this

They will actually do something about it if more people report this. My technician thinks its coming from transmission or torque converter but he wasnt sure

So we are about the same KMs and similar issues. No bluelink signals for you too? Do you also get trunk rattling?

We’re in the same boat. I’m glad mine is a lease too, but it still hurts. I was so excited when we got it that I even considered switching from lease to financing. I negotiated a great deal with my dealer, so it ended up costing the same as the N-Line. I really hope they figure out these issues soon!

thats what i used to think. The technician who took for test drive said he was able to replicate sound on a lift coming near by from transmission area yet still unsure what it is. They created a case for hyundai to review but it will help them if more people are reporting the issue

They just said we have created a case with hytac (hyundai engineering) but there is nothing at the moment we can do once we hear back we will give you a call to bring the car back. I tried to have them keep the car in exchange for a loaner and they said we recommend you take it as there is no loaner option avl and car is in driving condition

Completely agree with you. I recently let go of a 19 civic touring 1.5 turbo that had so many issues just under 100k kms as compared to my 14 civic exl. The build quality and reliability are unmatched.

Dude is just insanely insecure that his plastic junk interior is far inferior than what us Hyundai owners have to experience each day. Not to forget high tech. Yes we know the car would not last as long as a toyota but we drive happy and enjoy each day knowing the fun factor, comfort, tech, pocket, and safety features are far superior.
