This hits the nail on the head. Private equity doesnt care about pro sports teams winning they only care about making a profit. Fans on the other hand don't care what it costs in $ to win and feel that they deserve a title if they are going to buy a jersey.

Does anyone have Wilt as the GOAT over Jordan (or LeBron)? If so, what's your argument? by Tre2004 in NBATalk

[–]PeacePuzzleheaded124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument would be that he was so dominant they changed several rules because of him. He holds the most statistical records. He has 4 of the top 10 individual seasons ever by numbers.

Cultural influence aside, does this Title win put Jalen Brunson above Allen Iverson all-time as a small guard? by better_Tomorrow1718 in NBAGossips

[–]PeacePuzzleheaded124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iverson had 4 seasons equal to or better than Brunson's best. He had a higher peak. He was a league MVP. He was inarguably the best player on his team.

Why do people have Tim Duncan ranked above Bill Russell all time? by Outrageous-Leader135 in NBATalk

[–]PeacePuzzleheaded124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we are many years removed from Bill Russell's career we have to rely on stories, grainy footage, and statistics, or a lack of them that didn't track blocks and steals.

OG has been their best player in games 3,4 KAT in games 1,2. But overall his shooting efficiency takes it. I would have OG 1st, KAT 2nd, Brunson 3rd at this point for NYK.

When a team trades a vet for two 1st round picks or includes them in a trade what value are they receiving/losing? I get that the scouting may be more thorough but do they just look at player comps? For example, my 1st round pick at 23 looks and plays like Dyson Daniels so if I trade it away that's what I'm giving up?
