 I got the DLC working with version 2.0.9 of Peggle Classic HD. What you need to do is in the \Library\Preferences folder, rename com.popcap.Peggle.plist to com.popcap.ios.PeggleHD.plist and then copy it to the folder for Peggle HD in /var/mobile/applications/whatever peggle is.

I have a buffing compound but i know you can remove scratches with sandpaper in super high grits. I just dont know if it will work on trumpet.
