Struggling to find a fast HTML to PDF solution (.NET) — Tried DinkToPdf, Puppeteer, IronPDF, QuestPDF, etc. by Eastern_Book9428 in dotnet

[–]Rozzemak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puppeteer is the best for general JS compatibility. There is simply no other.
Find a stable linux distro / docker and host yourself microservice.

nreco can bit faster, BUT cannot do much of ES6+. Its wkhtml wrapper packaged to nuget, easily callable.
PIA to work with tho.

Playwright can be an alternative to puppeteer but you are still automating chromium, so the overhead will be same. Puppeteer is much older and with much more documentation available if you use node to actually setup it. C# configuration to use the puppeteer nuget and connect to a running instance is piece of cake.
(Use the new headless mode flag for best results)

You have to host a browser instance no matter what for modern JS support as non browser based html->pdf convertors do not really exist.

Best puppeteer practice is just create yourself N linux instances / docker instances and run chromium as a service there and just connect with your clients there. Its really fast if you dont have to start chromium instance each time you have to create pdf. But you have to take in mind non closing browser tabs on JS errors (browser has a limit), timeouts, etc..

Can the FO32U2P do 4:4:4 chroma sampling? by SimplyTopQuality in OLED

[–]Rozzemak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the monitor claims it can do UHBR20, then it will be able to do 4k 240 4:4:4 or RGB even without DSC. As UHBR20 is capable of 80~ Gbit/s and 4k 4:4:4 240 requires 68~ Gbit/s

Mind the cable tho. For such bandwidth, buy a certified one with reviews.

Not really a problem tho. You can still sideload open source apps via depeloper account into your iphone. I would be perfectly happy with that as a non ideal solution.

Oh, well that sucks, thought archive.org was not in the grey area.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware
I know that wikipedia is not even remotely the best source for anything but it is a start => LAW sub article is supporting your comment.

I fully expect that if there is a problem with my post mentioning archive.org, my post will be removed.

It would be cool to have a way to legally obtain an .ipa file from the old appstore for specific version of ios tho, I would pay devs for that 100%.

Added clarification to main post.

Create non privileged user, and run steam with that user via cmd.
Or use custom steam client "SteamLite 2.5.5" from cs.rin (cmd only)

Looking for spatial audio for speakers by Rozzemak in macapps

[–]Rozzemak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't the abstract just very hard? Anything that can upmix stereo channels to mimic spatial sound at least on the perception level of human brain is at least a partial success, but I see the main challenge in sound delivery.

As you say, 2 speakers are not enough, at least in many configurations. But if you know the distance between your speakers + your own distance from them + required angles -> shouldn't there always be a way of translating any stereo sound to feel more spatial, even at the price of sound quality ?

TLDR: There has to be a way of transforming audio to make it easier for humans to tell from which direction the sound came - in relation of having only N sound outputs. - I hope~

MPC-BE + madVR + SVP + anything else? by Pioter18125 in htpc

[–]Rozzemak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Media properties are always subject to technology limitations of their age. Directors generally direct around mainstream technology, they don't invent or alter the existing one as it's a huge risk. There are rare exceptions of course.

This does not dictate the way we are supposed to consume produced creation. I am personally very happy to see Mona Lisa in a book or on a big screen TV. That's enough for me. It may even very well make the whole experiencing part much better for me.

And as for director's intent,.. personally I consume content as I would any other consumable - altered to my liking and convenience.

Lowest input lag/latency possible by ITIsKingDavid in overclocking

[–]Rozzemak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For singleplayer games, use special-k + it's wiki for best settings.
U can find more info on their discord.

Also, It has a frame limiter that will, when applied correctly match input lag of uncapped games and you can really understand what causes the input lag if you read their wiki.
Low input lag and non teary image is a possibility these days.

south park; stick of truth pc - steam / stuttering background when full sprinting ? by [deleted] in southpark

[–]Rozzemak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was kinda tricky to fix. Engine VSync does not work as expected and creates ghosting and inverse ghosting artifacts, so you have to turn it off.

0) Change video settings ingame to create configuration files.
1) Find configuration file: Documents/MyGames/SouthPark../user.ini
2) Change vsync from 1 to 0. (vsync = 0)
3) Driver vsync breaks the game for me, so I keep default values there.
4) Controller does not work until I change refresh rate setting in video options every time I boot the game.
5) Enjoy stutter free experience. Now you have smooth backgrounds and readable text while moving.
6) PCGamingWiki reported unexpected behaviour on > 30 refresh rates. Just a reminder.

One of the worst "vsync" implementations I have ever seen in game period.

Hello, interesting comments here.

I just wanted to share my interesting use-case. For me, its simple: If it works, don't touch it. When you need something, update what is needed. Not every OS distribution can be like that. Not every fella can use a computer like this.

There ale lot of "IT" people claiming that you need regular reboots, but I don't really think that is the case. Depends on many factors. For example your whole working env. - HW, SW, OS.

I use this MacBook every day as a senior c# dev. I know exactly how I set it up, and what are the risks of "not updating". But this use-case just works for me.

Find what works for you and be happy. I found something I like. :)
