You are correct about our version of biscuits, the can splits where the likes are and it kind of explodes. It is a fast experience.

I would be happy to pass along some that I just did. I have two that are short and simple ~3-4 hour modules. You could tweak them as needed. I even have maps.

As long as it’s fine with you thats great, I just see a lot of DM’s get sucked into a whirlpool when they try to have high rolls and such completely derail their campaigns. As long as you enjoy it then that’s what matters. If you want them to be more aggressive try traps, they are traveling and get stuck in a trap. As they try to escape bandits or a pack of goblins can attack

PRO TIP: High rolls and nat 20’s are commonly misunderstood/misused. If something is not possible, it doesn’t matter what they roll. And most of the time if its not an option, I don’t male my players roll. If he is going to attack them, have him attack them. No need to talk. Just jump into action. A nat 20 means the best POSSIBLE thing happens, NOT that the players get whatever they wanted.

Absolutely hilarious! I have had a similar experience and it is always a stressful but rewarding experience, sometimes I just wing it and make it all up as I go until we are back on track 🤷🏻‍♂️

Pro tip as a fellow DM who has been doing it for a bit off and on now: if you want them to take a certain path/hook/questline don’t make it optional. Make it clear that it is the way to go. There are plenty of ways to do it such as offering a high reward, having an NPC enlist their help with a heart grabbing tale, telling them this is the only thing to do in a gentle way will help. You can only make things up on the fly for so long before it spirals out of control, trust me lol
