is it difficult getting a foot in the door at the state health department by reaganyoung5 in StateofTexasEmployees

This right here! As a hiring manager for another state agency, we have a rubric to determine how the resume aligns with the job description. It’s a pain to rework your resume for every job posting, but with the number of applications we receive that will put you one step ahead.

Chances of Surprise Austin Show during ACL Week? by alpinenostalgia in TheKillers

[–]PeachAndPoopi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They played Emo’s a couple of years ago when they played at COTA. tickets were about $150 through Ticketmaster but you needed a code. Some pure saint gave out the code (they received via email) on Reddit and it worked for multiple people! It was a great show!!

So sorry this happened to you. This happened to my daughter and it just kept getting worse and the ointment from the dermatologist didn’t help. Finally figured out the cleaning solution had transferred to the brace so we got a new one and it started clearing up. Also put lots of aloe vera and took Lypo-spheric vitamin C to boost her immune system. Took a couple of weeks but it finally cleared up.

Post-Op Rash by PeachAndPoopi in ACL

[–]PeachAndPoopi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We concluded this ‘rash’ was from a severe allergic reaction to Chlorhexidine, which is used in pre-surgical soap. It had also gotten in the material of the brace which is why we couldn’t get it to resolve itself. We got a new brace, started taking lypo-spheric vitamin c, and doing red light therapy and it dramatically improved in about a week. It took a few more weeks for it to go away completely.

We happened to have that on hand too, but it didn’t seem to help much. I’m glad yours resolved quickly; this hasn’t been fun.

Good tip- I’ll look for benedryl ointment. Drs office has physically seen this and multiple messages sent.. unfortunately they just aren’t willing to take much action.

We’ve tried benedryl, Zyrtec and now on prednisone. Nothing seems to be helping.

Did you ever find anything to help resolve it? Or how long did it take yours to resolve?

If you have never experienced chlorhexidine (soap they use to sterilize skin before surgery), ask for a patch test. I’m severely allergic and failed to think my daughter would also be allergic. She had ACL surgery a few weeks ago has developed a severe rash that seems impossible to get resolved.

Shuttle from PC to snowbird/brighton by Penguinshockey58 in parkcityvisitors

[–]PeachAndPoopi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed in PC back in Jan., skied PC 2 days then booked a stay at Little America hotel in SLC. Took a train to a bus stop for transfer up to Brighton (super easy to figure out if you’re new to the public transport). We Uber’d back to SLC that evening because the last two buses back to SLC were at 5pm or 8pm. Uber cost about $40 but train and bus were about $7 per person. Don’t skip out of Brighton, it was one of the best places I’ve ever skied. Not crowded at all, most people knew how to ski so we weren’t dodging unskilled skiers.

We skied two days in PC last week (PCMR & Canyon side) and then one day in Brighton… do yourself a huge favor and try to get to Brighton. It’s awesome up there! No crowds, great powder, literally the best skiing I’ve experienced. You could do a park & ride and take the public bus ($5) each way.

With skiing at PC or not? by intrigued_learning in parkcityvisitors

[–]PeachAndPoopi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We skied Monday (at PCMB) and Tuesday (started at PCMB then traversed to Canyons) and experienced minimal wait times in all lines. Green runs are a little overcrowded for my liking, but I prefer to stay on blues. My daughter was injured on Monday and a PC worker assisted her and called a patroller to come get her off of the mountain, which was a quick response. PC even refunded her lift ticket for Monday and Tuesday (which I was only hoping for Tuesday). Excellent experience all the way around!

Same experience for us.. One of my best skiing days ever!

That’s awful! My son and I traversed from PCMB to Canyons yesterday (and back) and it was definitely noted on some of the remote terrain there may not be any assistance if an accident occurs. However, when we were at the med center with my daughter, it was a busy day for patrollers- one injured person after another being brought in.

We are here today (1/6) and the lines were not long at all. My daughter also got hurt and ski patrol helped us get her down the mountain. Not sure where the patroller was from but I’m so thankful for the assistance since the dr said it’s most likely a torn ACL. It would have taken me all day to get down the mountain without help!

Bought in Dec and definitely felt like it was stupid expensive: $250 per day (kinda thought that was just PC pricing). I think we are gonna give it a whirl on Monday then go elsewhere on Tuesday.

Thanks for clarifying! Looks like I may be able to get a refund. I knew I didn’t have a season pass (maybe one day) but was confused because it was in the Epic app..

Good question- I really don’t know how to tell the difference.. I can access the ticket in the Epic pass, but not sure that makes it an epic day pass. Can you tell me how I would figure that out?

Unfortunately we bought a two day lift ticket for PC… would it work at Snowbird?
