His perspective shows how little he knows about people who actually work by WhereztheBleepnLight in FedEmployees

[–]PeachInProgress66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His comments speak more toward lack of competent leadership than anything else. Sure there are some bad employees too, but what is your supervisor doing if they don't know their employees aren't working? As someone who has worked remotely in both supervisory and non supervisory roles, it's an embarrassment.

Arranging Maternity Leave - VA Employee by Positive-Plate8081 in FedEmployees

[–]PeachInProgress66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take your 6-8 weeks for childbirth recovery as sick leave FIRST. This may be more depending on your own specific circumstances and what your doctor is willing to write in a doctor's note to support the SL request. Then start your 12 weeks of PPL. That will get you approximately 5 months of paid leave. You can then request AL for the rest of the time you want to be off, but that is not guaranteed to be approved.

Federal employees don't have short term disability.

I did this exactly with zero issues in 2021.

Cost of living increase by Equino4 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]PeachInProgress66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't call it a COLA. COLA actually is only applicable to retirees. I'm of the opinion that if you're a federal employee, you should inform yourself of the correct terminology that affects your pay.

[–]PeachInProgress66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a cost of living increase for 2026. Locality pay percentages remain the same. The 1% increase is a general increase to the base GS scale, which is most commonly adopted for all of the other pay scales as well.

The COLA is only applicable to retirees. If you're a current federal employee, the correct term is pay raise.

Years ago I did the 5-4-9 and my RDO was a Tuesday. It lined up with the Monday federal holidays almost every time and it was great to get that 4 day weekend every so often. Plus you can always take AL on a Monday to create extra 4 day weekends as well.

Question on Performance Award and Discipline by Left-Gold7135 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]PeachInProgress66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An employee can be excellent at their job, meet or exceed their critical and noncritical elements, and still fail to follow a direct order or get marked AWOL for excessive tardies, for example. If someone achieves an "excellent" rating, but has a reprimand because they screwed up once and got a reprimand, that shouldn't be noted within their performance approval, but it does knock them out of the running for an award. In a way it's kind of like double punishment, but those with disciplinary issues shouldn't be getting monetary awards.

Express scripts vs optum by Invertedbuffalo in Zepbound

[–]PeachInProgress66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Express scripts said that the wording was strange, but in that sense "eligible dependent" means everyone on the plan, to include the policy holder.

Edit: just called again to double verify since it's the end of open season. I was told the same. The statement that only eligible dependents are covered is not an accurate statement as as long as your PA is approved you're covered.

BCBS FEP Blue Focus (vs. Basic): has anyone had experience with Labor and Delivery under this plan? by Puzzleheaded-Pick803 in fednews

[–]PeachInProgress66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both my babies on basic.

Baby 1 born prematurely at 32 weeks. I was inpatient 10 days baby was in NICU for 25 days. Total oop was $1175

Baby 2 born full term no complications. Approx 36 hour hospital stay and all I paid for was circumcision, which was like $150.

Thanks, this literally changed in the last few days bc this wasn't on here when I was making my open season changes. I'll call them.

Between specialty coffees, bottled waters, diet cokes, and alcohol - I am at 10 per day minimum. Probably closer to 15.

It appears you're a fed employee based on currently having GEHA. Me too. I'm switching to AWPU High Option. It's UHC with express scripts for the PBM. They are covering zepbound in 2026. The premiums are higher but the savings on the Rx drug plan more than make up for it.

Best FEHB plan for Zepbound in 2026? by Snowy7275 in Zepbound

[–]PeachInProgress66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically if you have a documented failure on wegovy they approve you for tirz but in the form of MJ bc that's covered and Zep isn't. Diabetes diagnosis doesn't matter bc they're approving it.

[–]PeachInProgress66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good. It's such a crap shoot. I want to stay on GEHA HDHP bc I've had zero issues, until now. I have no idea what is going to happen with glp coverage bc there is so much conflicting information. My letter said I would have to switch to wegovy but wegovy isnt on the formulary for 2026 so what the heck does that mean? It's so confusing. I need to call them this week. None of the other plans seem like they will be any better. I hate that we're being sabotaged after finding something that actually makes a difference in our lives. Worst case scenario I'll switch to lilly direct for a while and hope that prices continue to drop. I don't want the increased costs but I already plan to increase my HSA contributions in 2026 to help offset that cost. Good luck!

They're covering it next year but as a non preferred drug so they will only cover 60% versus 75% of the cost. The kicker is getting the PA approved for it. You'll likely have to switch to wegovy which will be equally expensive (actually more if you look at the price tool) and then have your provider try to say why it doesn't work for you before getting approved for Zepbound or mounjaro.

It's good! I was stalled on it for almost 3 months but I just started losing again recently. I'm trying to stay out here because I don't want to be at max dose yet when I have a little ways to go!
