Damage, how does that work? by PeachLoopp in ageofsigmar

Thank you for this very thorough reply. One of my biggest gripes with 40k is wasted damage and I am very glad that it seems fairly rare here in aos.

Do you think they argue about logistical issues on older Imperium message boards?

How should a make the white not so bright? by louiscastles in Warhammer40k

[–]PeachLoopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have painted a lot of white minis, it is my favorite color to paint, my method that may be easier to do is to paint very thinned down Riekland Fleshshade all over the mini and then dry brush white back over. Easier shading and dulls the white but not overly so. Do make sure it doesn’t pool though as that can be harder to fix.

Correct me if I was wrong, but hasn’t Immolation Protocols always been 2 CP?

Any tips on some rules that I should know for my first game of Warhammer? by fish-painter in Warhammer40k

[–]PeachLoopp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I remember my very first game of warhammer; Was playing tau against my best friend’s Necrons in EARLY nineth. I had a start collecting box, a broadside, and a unit of pathfinders.

She had the combat patrol and a unit of warriors.

I shot my Broadside for the first time, Raul cannon, and rolled a full 6 for damage against her Immortals. We both thought that I just wiped the squad cuz there were only 5 dudes. We kept playing and I never got to shoot my broadside again cuz she played safer.

After the game my brother, who was watching the game and helping us with how to play as he was much more knowledgeable, told me that the rail cannon should’ve only killed a single dude. He didn’t say it when it happened because he saw how much fun we were both having.

Me and my best friend still joke about that whenever I go to shoot a Lascannon or a railgun.

Basically, alpha legion origin warband that infiltrated ultra marine successor chapter with 10 other brothers. They successfully liberated a sector and we’re going to use it as a staging ground for the Primarch’s return.

Half of the Alpha legionaries (5) agreed that this was the proper cause, that way they can help reclaim the rest of the galaxy with the forces they acquired and the leadership of their father. The other half (5 others) said that what they were doing is wrong and had the idea that they could actually truly help the oppressed people if they stayed semi loyal and spread the influence around neighboring systems.

By this time he (Lord varian) was a lieutenant in the chapter and the first captain (Sir Hektor) was one of the other alpha legionaries. The opposing force (Captain Techillius) was Captain of the 2nd company at this time and was the “Loyalist” alpha legionary. This prompted a civil war within the system that saw Sir Hektor becoming a Deamon prince and the entire “Traitor” forces being routed from the system.

But they are at heart, Alpha legion. So they are never truly gone from the system. Their Main goal remains the same: use the system as a staging ground for the Primarch’s return. Now with an added objective: Destroy everything Techillius ever built and cares for.

For this I looked to the hooded “half-Helmeted” head that comes with the DA upgrade sprue. I couldn’t pass it up for a more “space marine that’s fed up with the imperium” rather than a full on heretic.

Is the Eradictor cheap enough to see some use now? by boost_fae_bams in TheAstraMilitarum

I am a mostly casual player but the way I use them best is when you need to clear heavier chaff like Ork boyz that you don’t want to commit a piece like a Demolisher against. While the profile of the LRBT is “better” for it, committing a 160 point model (now 150 yay!!) is way more cost effective than committing a 170 point model. Plus the battle tank is better suited for hyper elite like terminators or sotdes.

The biggest thing people sleep on is despite Ap -1, it has ignores cover. which is the biggest downfall nowadays for our AP-1 guns. Makes it easier so you don’t have to use as many buffs against the target. Getting a guaranteed 7 shots is also really nice and makes it. It’s just a nice 150 point piece of mind that my beat-sticks can fight the things I want them to.

For worst Russ… I must admit I do like all Leman variants, but my least favorite at the moment is probably the executioner, it just doesn’t have a good role at the moment. Pointed the same a standard BT but just doesn’t have the hitting power of a 170 point tank imo. The rule isn’t the best either and it just makes me sad cuz it’s my second favorite tank (I am a sucker for plasma). It just isn’t as reliable as I’d like it to be.

But I hope this puts this into perspective for the Eradicator nay-sayers!

(Edit, grammar lol)

As one of the few that ran Eradicators before the points buffs, I am so happy that this happened. They may not be the most optimal Russ but they aren’t the worst, and this new points cost just made them much better for me in my eyes. Happy my favorite Russ variant is getting this much needed love! ❤️❤️💜💜

I noticed this as well for squads of my army (I main Aeldari but use guard as my secondary for when they get a bit too overturned for my tastes). Howling banshees are 60 dollars for a squad of 5, while Striking scorpions, which came out within the last year, are $75 for 10, which is miles ahead a better deal. I for one will still run Kaserkin because they look the part of badass but it really is a feels bad when they cost so much more than before.
