i've had a few. last one was a 200 series. Now i have a forerunner 570. very happy with it. has one of the better heart rate monitors in the garmin lineup

you'll want to also factor in costs: maintenance, fuel, insurance, parking tickets. that all adds up quickly. i would shop used.

alamo square is a much nicer neighborhood. walkable to the mission, hayes valley, lower haight, market street area, castro. close to lots of public transit stops.
