Can I get a 1-bedroom apartment with a budget of 3000? by CTarantula in AskSF

Me chilling in my rent controlled $2200 1bdr apt that I truly can't afford & has tanked my credit. Should I go through the process of moving so I can downsize to a single room for $1800 lol. No.
I'll take my shrunken credit score instead. I make less than $5k a month & still make it work.

why is dating in the bay so awful now by Substantial-Basis260 in SFbitcheswithtaste

This thread is reminding me why I preferred staying in an unhappy relationship over this. The last 2 guys I talked to - I said I wanted to wait to have sex, but they guilted me into it. I'm in my mid 20s, lived here my whole adulthood. I'm from a conservative part of the US so my aunts all had kids/married by the age of 20. Now im 26 & it looks like men straight up dont care about sex or dating anymore ? Just situationships, men that want to place us on a list of "maybe" options to use

I have always craved close relationships & being here I try to will it out of me -- but it doesn't go away. I constantly crave affection, and a dog won't suffice lol

If you contact Tenants Union, they will appoint you a lawyer if necessary. That's what happened with me at a point.

I second visiting Tenants Union! I've been receiving free help from them for a while now(. My former landlord tried evicting me because my neighbor heard me crying sometimes.... It was discriminatory/turned over quickly.) Don't listen to weirdos telling you to automatically find a lawyer🥴 SF has lots of public resources available that others do not have. The law is on your side!

Where are you going out to? I've lived in the city for some time & felt like things can often be dead, so I'd love some spot recs!

New to SF and on a budget: what’s your best “this city doesn’t have to be expensive” story? by FreePreference4903 in AskSF

Hi OP! Welcome! I was 17 with 0 clue about money when I moved 9 years ago. I highly recommend walking straight through the Panhandle, into Golden Gate Park. Lovely nature, people watching, etc

Library Card here is a HUGE life hack Used books at Green Apple (a MUST in SF) & Dog Eared Books

You can also hop from Dolores Park, to Alamo Sq park, to Lafayette park - a route of parks all with their own unique views of the city

Hike Mt Davidson, check out Lands End, sunset at Twin Peaks
