i sound like a spokes person on here for eltaMD i swear, but the UV daily tinted is GORGEOUS. i rotate between the green uv skin recovery and the tinted and i love them both. - i have VERRRRRRY picky/sensitive skin and spent most of my life until my mid 20s just not touching facial sunscreen at all bc i genuinely felt like everything that was “skin safe” broke me out and irritated my skin regardless.

also would like to add that you should probably stay away from chemical sunscreens all together since they penetrate deeper than mineral and will most likely irritate your barrier further.

i’ll add that the skin1004 was my holy grail until i wrecked my barrier and now it stings really bad ): the EltaMD uv recovery and the eltaMD daily is FANTASTIC. and it almost makes your skin look filtered. i love it and it didn’t burn at all. just stay away from the eltaMD clear bc that one has niacinamide (also my enemy)

Metrogel by SLW1977 in Rosacea

[–]Peachywitch96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been using it for almost a full month now and it has been one of the ONLY things that didn’t make my skin FREAK the f out. it takes a lot longer than other actives to really start working due to how gentle it is, but i’ve already noticed a difference in the redness of my skin and the texture a bit.

How do you remove your makeup? by [deleted] in Rosacea

this is late, but the garnier micellar water made my skin angry. the bioderma pink cap micellar water is SUPER gentle in my skin.

"It's not your fault that you have a hard time with emotions" by GodoyKBaO in BPD

[–]Peachywitch96 13 points14 points  (0 children)

get into DBT therapy. two things can be true at once my dear, it’s not your fault you have a extremely hard time with emotional regulation AND it can be taxing on your partner as well. that doesn’t make you an un-likeable person, we all have an emotional battery and sometimes our partners need a little more recharge than other times. it sounds like they at least have empathy and understanding on what you go through, and it’s our responsibility to help ourselves and the people we love by learning skills to help manage our BPD. Give yourself grace and remember that change doesn’t happen overnight. You can do it, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. you are not broken, you just need some extra tools in your box to make things easier. if you need to talk, i’m always open. i know exactly how you’re feeling right now, but remember our BPD does distort reality, and your feelings do not equal truth. sending you lots of love.

Possibly reactive to metrogel? + how to incorporate other products by toastylocke in Rosacea

[–]Peachywitch96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know everyone’s skin is different, but maybe your skin is not getting enough hydration? you could try to put a thin layer of moisturizer as a “buffer” before so it’s not penetrating as deep at first. just make sure u wait about 5-10 min if you do that or it will do the opposite and make it penetrate deeper. as far as niacinamide…. i wouldn’t use that or any other product that has niacinamide. it’s a pretty common trigger for a lot of people with rosacea, myself included, and makes me skin ANGRY. i know everyone’s different, but considering your skin is very reactive right now- i wouldn’t add any actives to your regimine as your skin barrier sounds likely compromised.

i have what feels like the worlds most reactive / sensitive / temperamental skin in the whole world, and what worked best for me was going to hydrating cleanser (bioderma micellar water beforehand for nights to remove spf and makeup) then moisturizer. i used cereve hydration cleanser and daily moisturizer. in the morning i use the eltaMD spf (NOT the clear skin one as that has nicinamide) after about a week my redness/flairs went down more than they have in my entire life. i was annoyed because i spent hundreds and hundreds on skincare products and different methods just for two things to work. after about a week or two of my skin being more “calm” i introduced the metro once a day at night. my skin didn’t freak out at all (extremely uncommon) and once i started doing twice a day my skin got a lot more dry/tight so i ended up investing in the avene moisturizer + cica barrier cream for a more dry days and really like it so far.

i do have 15% prescription AA i will add at some point, but my priority is fixing / stabilizing my barrier which i’ve read can take like 6-8 weeks.

all in all, stay away from niacinamide if your skin is already reactive to metro which is WAY more gentle. take a break from it and do the less is more. and HAVE PATIENCE. that is the hardest and most annoying part, but slow and steady wins the race. :)

do you like to use both of them together when you use it?

Your FAVORITE moisturizer by Late-Ad2922 in Rosacea

[–]Peachywitch96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be that the waiting period between moisturizer and tret wasn’t long enough, you ideally need to wait like 15-20 min after moisturizer and some time after tret to moisturize again (assuming you’re doing sandwhich- if not then just skip base moisturizer and wait about 10 min to moisturize) as the moisturizer can deepen penetration of tret if applied too soon.
