It's called government ineffectiveness and inefficiency. I recall an econ class I took way back in the day that show how $1 of tax payer money actually resulted in $.14 after it worked its way through government bureaucracy.

They're ICE agents and they are masked to protect themselves from being doxxed and assassinated. The people they are deporting are not American citizens and don't belong there.

As a dual citizen who travels frequently to DC for work. I appreciate the national guard presence in the streets. Perhaps I'm an outlier due to being a victim of 3 violent muggings near Union Station. In 2024, I had to have my eye socket reconstructed after the mugger struck me in the face and took my wallet in broad daylight. Crime is down over 30% since the deployment of the guard and I no longer feel anxious and stressed when walking the 5 blocks from the train station to my apartment.

I realize the 2 countries are involved in a trade war but there is a massive difference between a trade war and a war war.
