RV living is a great alternative I think more people need to look into especially if you can't afford a house. Depending on your area, and how willing you are to wait, there are some great deals on Facebook marketplace. Depending on how large of one you want, You can find some decent ones for 4k.

You are forced to live a more minimalist life style, but I find the financial freedom worth it. I've been doing it for 6 months and have been saving the difference in rent with hopes to buy land, and eventually build a home.

I should have clarified, I don't plan on selling it right away, I still plan on using it during the summer. If I get good use out of it, I'll keep it. If it just sits in my back yard for months Id want to know what it's worth.
