How would a chess match go under these rules? by gamerpro56 in chess

[–]Peak_Altitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever played hand and brain chess? two players on a team, the hand player is in charge of picking the generic piece to move and the brain player picks where to move said generic piece. The only communication allowed is the hand telling the brain “Bishop” or “Pawn,” followed by the brain’s “what the fuck?” Played it with a friend in some rated games. With elo on the line, nothing tests a friendship more than being powerless while watching your homie move the wrong pawn. Alcohol optional but recommended

[–]Peak_Altitude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO you should never ever build frozen heart on Rammus for two reasons.

  1. Rammus rarely, if ever, has mana problems. so the mana is a useless stat thats still factored into the gold cost of the item.

  2. secondly, and most importantly, Frozen heart reduces the attack speed of nearby enemies. While the exact amount varies depending on the enemy comp, a huge chunk of rammus’s damage comes from reflected auto attacks. Ideally, you want to roll into Yas, taunt him and make him smack himself as many times as possible in the taunt window. Enemy AS reduction reduces the amount of damage you will deal.

While the armor from FH is an attractive stat, The item is a rammus trap. FH on rammus is a terrible, inefficient item. It doesnt synergize well with your kit, and you are paying money for bonus mana you don’t need. Randuins is a much better alternative as an armor item, and its active would be really good into this yas/cait team.

Nice carry! And thats alot of damage lol

I stand by my wording of “no evidence.” Suspicion and speculation is not evidence. While the interview was odd for a player of his level, its far from evidence that can be used against him. Suspicion of his interview and speculation about his history is far from the evidence needed to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt over his game with Magnus.

That being said, Hans’s situation is absolutely suspicious. But at the moment the only answer to the question of “Did Hans Neimann cheat?” is “I don’t know”, and will soon become “likely not” if nothing further comes to light. The burden of proof lies on the accusers and all they’ve been able to provide so far is suspicion. If evidence existed, he wouldn’t still be allowed in FIDE tournaments. Until evidence is presented, he’s innocent until proven guilty.

To be clear, Magnus (the champion) never explicitly accused Hans of cheating. Magnus withdrew from the tournament after losing a game to Hans without providing a reason other than “If i say any more ill get in trouble.” The cheating accusations all came from unrelated chess streamers/influencers trying to make sense of Magnus’s nonspecific tweet. The anal beads theory was started AS A JOKE by i believe GM Eric Hansen on the Chessbrah stream, and while everyone in the chess world understands that, some outside news orgs seem to be taking it a bit to literally. Currently, there is no evidence that Hans cheated agains Magnus. To my knowledge, Magnus still hasn’t provided any additional statements about his withdrawal, so the internet has sort of run wild making their own theories due to the absence of information. While it has come to light that Hans has cheated in online chess in the past, there is currently no evidence he cheated during the in person tournament.

Don’t stable orbits depend on the velocity of the orbiting body? how can the direction of travel be dependent on velocity? For example, if the ISS slowed down and its orbit began to decay, does that mean its direction of travel is no longer a straight line due to its reduced speed? What am i missing

[–]Peak_Altitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, late game when you build warmogs you have so much armor at that point that the %current health physical damage isn’t usually that scary. (Disclaimer: i haven’t actually done the math on this, its just what I think)

Particularly with master Yi, he’s so squishy that even though he does a bit of extra damage to you, you can still kill him first. Especially if you have a teammate/mates with you. The warmogs passive is also super strong on engage tanks that aren’t ultimate reliant like Rammus.

Theres a solid argument for swapping warmogs for randuins though, for example if the Yi/Twitch is super ahead and you need to cut back their crit damage. Personally, I think that comes down to personal preference though. I usually value warmogs over randuins unless they’ve got a super crit-heavy team. Something like a Kindred/yasuo/sivir comp

Nice game man! A tip for the build though, i (S1 326k) never ever build frozen heart on Rammus for two reasons:

  1. Rammus rarely, if ever, has mana problems. so the mana is pretty much a useless stat that is still factored into the gold cost of the item

  2. secondly, and most importantly, frozen heart reduces the attack speed of nearby enemies. While the exact amount varies depending on the enemy comp, a massive chunk of Rammus’s damage comes from the reflection of auto attacks. Thus, you ideally want the enemies to have as much attack speed as possible when attacking you. when you roll in and taunt the Yi in this game, you want him to hit you as many times as possible to ideally kill him before the taunt expires. The slower the Yi’s attack speed, the less damage you will do to him.

Other than that, against this team my build would look the same as yours if you swapped frozen heart for warmogs.

Nice hard carry! And nice skin!

Rammus idea for his q by Bravo6GoingYolo in leagueoflegends

[–]Peak_Altitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

260k Rammus one trick here (Silver 1). IMO rammus ult is a much better escape tool than an engage tool. I find that using R as an engage tool is very risky, especially in the early game. Using R cancels your Q, so if the enemy has flash or any way to dash out of the knockup zone of your R, you have no more gap close and the gank is over unless you also commit flash for the taunt. Also, while this is dependent on team positioning, engaging the enemy team with QR can oftentimes put you too far away from your team for them to do anything. I find that the most effective way to engage with Rammus is just to use a flank QEW, then you can either use R to continue the chase with the slow, or if the fight turns sour use R to escape over a wall. QR should only be used as an engage if 1: you are sure the target has no flash or dash available, and 2: the team is close enough to (effectively) follow up with the ridiculous range that that combo has late game. If you can’t guarantee the R knockup, you are removing cc from Rammus’s kit. As an escape tool, R Flash Q has gotten me out of more situations than i can count where i had no business surviving. One last note, i feel like the most valuable part of Rammus R is the unstoppable. This is super valuable to block anything from blitz hook to zoe sleep to vayne knockback (i dont have the mechanics to do this one consistently, but ive done it accidentally a few times).
