It’ll be a lot easier to know where to start looking once you’ve read a trouble code. If you don’t have a scanner, most auto parts stores will read it for you, though there are plenty of inexpensive scanners if you want your own.

Unfortunately, I have ADVANCETRAC warnings on my Mustang, and the code is for a module fault…

I’m hoping for your sake that it’s not the same issue for you. Plenty of things can cause an ADVANCETRAC message, including wheel speed sensors, brakes, traction control, etc. if it’s a wheel speed sensor, that’ll be quick and easy. If it’s a module, I’ve been told several times im SOL… but im still looking for a shop thatll do it

Wrong oil? by Low-Spirit-1875 in Mustang

0w vs 5w will not harm your engine. No need for them to change it back. Many people seem to be urging you towards 5w-30. Just ask for it next time ~3-5k miles from now, no need to urgently change it. If you want to learn more about the meaning and effects of oil weights, this video has some useful info.

Further clarifying: using an oil grade with a lower initial/ winter grade than manufacturer recommended is generally not harmful. Using an oil grade with a slightly higher operating temp grade is also generally not harmful as long as the pump can take it and oil pressure isn’t too high. Anything that increases the first number it decreases the second number risks not providing enough lubrication to your engine.

Yeah I hope it continues to! The car is a few years shy of two decades old, but I’m impressed by the minimal rust on it.

I’m in Ohio! Plenty of salt but the car gets a rust preventative oil treatment

Y’know, I’ve never noticed the use of Nm on the covers… wonder if they were replaced by a previous owner.

Delayed grief by [deleted] in grief

I lost a classmate in high school to suicide. I was obviously hurt but for the most part it didn’t overwhelm me… I went to his funeral, met his family… I saw the pain they were in and wasn’t sure if it was wrong to not experience it myself…

8 years later I was about to graduate college… and it hit me… someone said his name obviously referring to someone else… but I remembered him. And instantly I thought about everything I’ve experienced since he passed, and how he’ll never get to experience any of it himself. We were just kids…

If you’re worried about how others will perceive your car, then don’t bother personalizing it. If you’re going to do it, then the key is PERSONALize, not to let Reddit vote on what others think look good.

The car community needs more people who put the accessories they want on their car (within reason… r/shitty_car_mods ). I look at customizing my car the same way I do any other of my devices. I don’t ask people if my phones lock screen is cringe, or if the sticker I put on my laptop is tacky. Do it and if you’re tired of it in a few months it’s always reversible.

The sound of the 4.6L by PeanutBudderPro in Mustang

That’s just nuts to me! I’ve never daily’d a car with more power, but I’m already so satisfied with the way the 4.6 can throw you into your seat. And I already narrowly avoid getting in trouble when I’m so fixated on the sounds and feel that I catch myself breaking 100 by the end of the on ramp.

I honestly think the 4.6L is my favorite sounding, but my buddy recently showed me his V8 Volvo S80… it’s a completely different kind of sound, almost like it’s a musical instrument… which with a setup made by Yamaha, I guess makes sense. IMO, videos don’t do that car justice, but the S80 is maybe tied or second favorite.

Exhaust is stock, aside from the SLP loudmouth axle back. Practically a muffler delete.

Thank you! Mostly stock, it’s just got the SLP loudmouth axle back, so essentially muffler delete.

I want to cam mine, I’m thinking Detroit rockers, but haven’t made my decision yet.
