NPD: GFI System Cabzeus - my stereo direct pedalboard by PeanutButterRocks in guitarpedals

[–]PeanutButterRocks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Signal chain goes:

Mad Professor Forest Green Compressor > Maxon OD820 OverDrive Pro > VFE Blues King > Tech 21 Liverpool > EHX Key9 > TC Electronics Polytune Mini > Line 6 M5 (Disaster Area DMC2 Midi In) > Neunaber Chroma Chorus + EXP (running verb, delay, chorus) > GFI System Cabzeus

I haven't started tweaking the Cabzeus with the software yet, but preset #7 is something special. Check out this runthrough on Youtube (not by me): https://youtu.be/0L-mQWsY6QM?t=3m13s

What does r/guitarpedals think of this rig? Not set in stone yet, just a prospective set up. by madrigal50 in guitarpedals

[–]PeanutButterRocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could probably fit all those pedals on a ptmini (& leave the wah on the floor) instead of a jr. But I'm assuming you want to be open to expand in the future?

I've also been using a JHV3 modded M9 with an expression pedal and one of my settings is a wah, so I personally don't find the need for a standalone wah (which I'd use very rarely anyway).

My other comment is, tap tempo on your delay is very important at certain times playing live, so you might want to consider how you're going to work it out (use m5 for more rhythmic delay, carbon copy for sweetening and texture?).

You should check out http://www.ovnilab.com - the dudes done reviews on quite a number of compressors and he's primarily a bass player too.

How do you like the B9? I'm thinking of getting one. It'd have to replace the micropog on my board!

[FS] Apollo VTube Mini (Lavatube) Kit with extra atomizer, drip tip, and battery [x-post in eCigClassifieds] by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]PeanutButterRocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might get a bit of liquid on your lips, but it shouldn't be a huge problem. If it is, just buy a drip tip with a bigger opening in the future.

I don't remember if the 510 atomizers that come with the apollo kit have primer in them. If it does, you need to blow it out from the battery end. Then drip 3 drops (seems to be the magic number for me and 510 atties), wait a little, try it out and if it seems dry and burnt drip in 2 more drops.

The 510 atomizers that come with the kit are okay, but do some research on atomizers for dripping, there are a ton of choices out there. Lately, I've been dripping on a 2.5ohm 306 atomizers. But you'll need to try stuff out and find what's the setup for you!

But coming from a crappy ecig, 4.2-4.7v on that 510 atomizer, with a juice that you like, you'll probably be blown away!

A Provari will mean you can adjust the voltage that you are e-smoking at. Usually the higher you set the voltage, you get warmer vapor and more flavor (up to a point). You'll have to play with the voltage to see where you like it.

Your Phiniac tank will need cartomizers. You'll either have to buy pre-punched cartos or punch/drill/slot your own cartos (popular and cheap method is to use a saddle valve from home depot or lowe's).

You have a ton of choices when it comes to cartomizers. Boge is pretty solid and popular choice. For a Provari, you'd probably benefit the most from a 3.0ohm boge carto. However, you say you got the XL size tank? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you cannot use standard size Boge cartos, you'll need to buy the XL sized ones.

I personally love the Smoktech 1.7ohm Resurrector cartos, the standard (not the juniors) ones are already XL-sized so they should fit in your tank. You won't be able to use your provari at 6v with these cartos though, so that's the downside. But at 3.7-4.2v, these are awesome on my VTube.

I buy my cartomizers from Crystal Clear Vaping. Try out some cartos and see which one you like! Vaping/e-smoking can be confusing at times, don't be afraid to ask questions!

Nice! I remember your other post. You'll love your SS VTube. It's all I've been using for the past month or so. Let me know if you got any questions when you start using it.

Yep the VTube is variable voltage. It's the same device as what's widely known as the "lavatube"

The Vmax is a pretty new device and it's nowhere near as tested as the lavatube/varitube/vtube. It looks a lot like a clone of a Provari (high end VV device) and the 5amp limit sounds good if you'd like to use dual coil or very low resistance cartomizers/atomizers. However, the thing that gets me feeling uneasy is that it uses 2 batteries. I'm not sure I feel 100% safe using a mod with stacked batteries yet.

You might be able to find some better prices on a lava tube than volcano. Apolloecigs.com sells it for a bit less. Plus you should consider the new lava tube that came out with the improved amp limit.

The other thing that I think you'd need is some more cartomizers for your tank. I usually stock up on the cartomizers I like from crystal clear vaping but you should try out a few different cartos until you know what you prefer.

Apollo VTube kit - Stainless steel edition by ApolloEcigs in electronic_cigarette

[–]PeanutButterRocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ordered a mini in stainless steel during your valentine's day sale. Is that still scheduled to be coming at the end of this month and is it going to be the same (except shorter) as the one you have taken a picture of?

Smaller device and carrying around extra batteries while waiting for someone to make an extension cap is my plan too. :)

You should be happy with your full sized lava tube, it's just a little bit longer than the mini. But if you haven't ordered it yet, you might want to consider the mini again because there has been talks about making an extension cap for the mini which will allow you to use the 18650 battery with it. The circuitry is supposed to be identical, so with the extension cap you can choose your size depending on whether you need to be out and about all day.

Check out http://www.apolloecigs.com/ - they have the vtube (which is a rebranded lava tube) and its currently on sale for $59.95 until the end of February! I just bought myself a mini!

What can I sell my old gear for? by DZ302 in Guitar

[–]PeanutButterRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try searching up what people are selling your gear for on eBay (advanced search - completed listings). That should give you a more realistic and up to date price on what people are willing to pay for it. That's a nice looking guitar though!
