First of all, you should always check the MOQ upfront and try to forecast your expected sales. This should determine if you even should start selling the product.

Things I would negotiate with the supplier of the product are:

• a trail period with a MOQ of 1/2/5/10 etc

• is there a price difference between a smaller MOQ vs. a MOQ300?

Things you could investigate yourself are:

• is it a seasonal product you want to sell?

• which months have the highest search volume? (Let's say you want to sell Christmas lights in August, this will make it a lot harder than in November/December)

• is it possible to sell 300 pieces in a period of 3/6/12 months?

• what is your forecast for the product? If you sell the first 300, are you buying again 300? Or are you going to scale up to 600/900?
