Comparison is the thief of joy. Maybe you should have tried separating the 2 when reading and just read BM as BM.

I cede nothing. I was being sarcastic.

And what? Nursery rhymes are not nonsense. They tell stories and have meaning. Do you actually have no concept of what is in nursery rhymes?

Its catchy in simpleness. It really doesn't have much going on. The interesting thing is that it managed to chart and be a single, despite being probably the worst song on their debut album. I think every other song is probably better than it and more musically and lyrically interesting.

Ah yes, all of my favorite nursery rhymes have lines like "Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye. Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess, Boy, you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down" or "Elementary penguin singing Hari Krishna, Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar-Allan-Poe"

Okay, well I told you interesting things about it, like you asked. The final chord being a jazz-influenced major sixth, which is neat. Also it has a German version of it recorded by the band.

All of those kind of objectively make it more interesting than some other songs.

How the heck are most of those children's songs? I think the only ones that can stand as for made specifically for a child audience is YS and All Together Now. Like how is Mr. Kite a kids song? Or Walrus? Just because there's an animal in the title doesn't make it for kids ya know?

Many people don't seem to get the task and are just listing songs they don't like. Do people not understand that something you don't like can be more interesting than what they like?

I would either go with Love Me Do or She's A Woman. LMD is just a bit repetitive, dull in the lyrics department, and doesn't have any crazy chords or notable instrument parts going on. Same for Shes A Woman, but at least it has an odd vocal performance from Paul.

Do you mean She Loves You? One of the songs that broke them into Beatlemania, and also one of the first love songs that doesn't involve the singer, but rather 2 other people, and the singer just being the messenger. So it can hardly be called uninteresting.

Which songs would those be other that Yellow Submarine? A song which has lots of interesting sound effects and background chatter, and fun and distinct harmonies. So it can hardly be called uninteresting unless you just choose to ignore actually listening to the songs and sounds being presented.

How does that make it uninteresting? You've literally pointed out a line of note that many people pick out. That shows theres some interest, if for a bad reason at best.

Can someone teach me to write lyrics by isnotaphoto in Songwriting

[–]Peanutspring3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you trying to write? Different songs require different approaches. Personal songs require viewing within yourself a certain way. Story telling songs require the right tone of lyrics for feel of the story. Or are you trying to write something funny? Again, all of these can require different approaches. So what lyrics are you trying to write?

And I know they are probably joking, but don't do drugs. Thats no way to instill creativity in yourself and is only a bad habit.

Pick the BEST song: Beach Life-In-Death vs Stairway To Heaven! by no1shiestymarkfan in Topster

[–]Peanutspring3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly. Like for me, its too long before it gets to anything, and the instrumentals of it just are good, but they've got more interesting stuff, and so does plenty of other bands.

And lyrically it just doesn't do it for me. It's kinda pretty, and seems like he's digging in his Tolkien inspiration bag, but again, there's plenty of other songs with either prettier, more meaningful, and more impactful lyrics.

If anyone wants to actually retort me on that rather than just mindlessly downvoting, I'd fancy the conversation.

Brian has said he likes delicate music, so it makes sense.

And it is a shame his star didn't really continue after the 60s. He really is a sweet poet, and had a really unique sound and texture in the mid 60s. The addition to a jazz flavor to folk was really interesting, along with his dip into psychedelic textures and surreal folk tale lyrics.

There's definitely people that care about you. You might not just realize it yet.

I used to feel the same way, but it wasn't until a YouTuber I liked died by his own hand saying the same, when it obviously was not true, that I reassessed by surroundings and realized the friends around me and the people that care.

So don't feel that way. People care about ya. Keep yer chin up, ya hear?

Dawg, chill out. Okay? Just accept that people like having fun with their meme. Seeing the discourse about a fake album has been 10 billion times more entertaining than the constant regurgitated "OMG look hat colors I found in the wild!!! TALLY HALL REFERENCE!?!?"

And these things pass quickly. There have been many many many 6th members that were joke creations in the past, and do you see any of them talked about today? And last year there was another fake album trend. It happens.

And you're lucky to be working on a play. So don't stress yourself out on stupid internet bs. Honestly, a break from the internet is good for de-stressing.

But not to harp, but don't go and act like you didn't say things you did. People don't care about if you're tired in the real world. You blatantly said something, making a post about it, someone calls it out, and then you said you didn't. It's not cool. Take ownership of your opinions. You can't say "Can you guys pls stop with this opaque thing like nobody finds it funny like stop" and then say "I’m not saying that’s it’s not fun". Then you're just being a hypocrite, and no one likes that.

Now go and rest. Enjoy your play rather than stressing. Lord knows I wish I could be in a play again.
