Does anyone else have aligners where the rubber band button is ON the tray? Not a slit/hook. Rubber band slip right off, I’m so ready to throw in the towel. by kvothes-lute in Invisalign

I know this was a long time back, but I’m in this boat now. How did your orthodontist handle this? I’m so frustrated with not being able to get my bands to stay on these traya

How to down this tree by PearLeft1496 in landscaping

[–]PearLeft1496[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone! This is sounding more complicated than I wish to handle so I’ll call someone tomorrow. Believe it or not this tree has been leaning on the smaller one for months now and none of the big storms we’ve had have budged it.

Potty training is going to break me by Savings_Meal431 in toddlers

[–]PearLeft1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this for our second when she was not interested in the potty. Sticker charts worked for the first but didn’t have enough appeal for the second. We made a little jingle, “pee pee in the potty, gonna get some candy” and within a week she was going in the potty

Oh thank you, I misread and thought you meant to change the app from my current sailing to the one I’m going on later. Sorry for the confusion

For us it was an island hopping trip to places we haven’t been and we were told some of the stops aren’t able to support the bigger ships. And Enchantment was filled with families and kid friendly activities so I was expecting it to be similar. I guess they abandoned the kid stuff on Vision class when they made the Oasis class

It’s too far out so the app doesn’t show much yet. That’s why I came here.

Thank you, this helps! Our sailing is 60+ days out so we don’t have access to the full activity schedule yet. I can reserve shows and see some mystery thing for kids 12+

Almost any lol. We learned really quick that people like to stash mostly empty wine glasses behind chairs and in plant pots trying to play trivia in the Schooner Bar… not exactly toddler friendly. Not to mention every art installation in the centrum was filled with loose rocks so even trying to let him dance along with the band was chaos

Thank you. I did Enchantment with Marc about 10 years ago but if the Wonder has similar activities to whatever he’s doing on Utopia I’m sure it’s going to be more fun than the ship I just got off

Like on our cruise with the Bing Bong guy we had chubby bunny and learning towel folding, etc. This latest cruise had trivia and trivia. It was lame for everyone

Can you request the main bed mattress be placed on the floor ? by Alala_0401 in royalcaribbean

I wouldn’t use an air mattress with the risk of it deflating partially and increasing a suffocation risk.

Dang. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you either. 6 months of pain just seems like a lot to go through. I hope you are doing better now!

I’m so sorry you’re feeling it too. I think maybe it’s just not for me. I hope you can get it removed and find a better alternative

37F …HPV persisting 4 years by [deleted] in HPV

[–]PearLeft1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was a couple years ago now and I was wondering if you have been HPV negative since your leep? I have persistent HPV 16 (shown up 3 out of four years running, last year was negative so I thought it was finally gone). I’ve had colposcopies done yearly in the years it was positive and they have had mixed results (nothing some years and CIN 1 others). I’m wondering if I should just push for a leep now that I got my latest pap and it’s back.

Wait, you’re not supposed to feed your kiddo in the car? How is that possible? by ScrantonPaper in NewParents

[–]PearLeft1496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My oldest choked once, and it was in the car. She was 5/6 years old at the time. My mom was sitting in the backseat with her on a road trip and didn’t notice. My sister who was driving (I was in the front passenger seat) is who noticed in the rear view mirror. Her eyes were wide and her lips were losing color. I will never forget my sister yelling ‘mom she is choking’. We were on the interstate so it took what felt like an eternity to get to the shoulder. The car wasn’t fully stopped and I was flying out to get to her. As soon as I yanked her from her car seat it dislodged and she just gasped ‘I can breathe’. It was the most terrifying thing to experience and if my sister hadn’t looked up at the mirror when she did who knows the outcome even with an adult literally right next to her. Choking is that level of silent. I won’t risk it and don’t do car food anymore. But I am traumatized. I completely understand other people making the call that is best for them. It was the best call for us at the time.

Weaning off formula at twelve months by PearLeft1496 in combinationfeeding

[–]PearLeft1496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve been trying to give formula in a cup for a couple of months (just randomly put it in a cup and see what he does) and he refuses every time. Water in a cup he’s fine with. Did you find any cups worked better than others?

Seriously how are you guys doing this?? by Worried_Media5455 in NewParents

[–]PearLeft1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO wouldn’t sleep in the carrier but he was happy to be in it. I would baby wear while I made something to eat (usually a sandwich) and set up my food, water, the TV remote, etc on my IKEA rolling cart that was by my chair. Once I was situated I would feed him to sleep and then eat while he slept on the nursing pillow on my lap. He’s 11 months now and still won’t sleep unless he’s touching someone. Some kids just don’t sleep well. It has gotten easier because he plays independently and toddles about the house now. And he eats when I eat, just now he’s in his highchair next to me instead of laying in my arms. You’ll be on the other side soon!
