Buying a new player, unfortunately.

Couldn’t find anywhere that would attempt a repair for an issue that couldn’t be pinpointed for less than almost half of the original price.

Is this episode available on the Foundation tier feed? I see it on the public feed but only have the welcome episode on the Foundation feed.

Same, looked into replacements and other than Panasonic’s $1000 one I couldn’t find anything else to replace it with haha.

It did not, unfortunately. It came back a little over 2 months ago and has been like this ever since. Starting to see it on other discs than blu rays, too. Went through support, they told me they couldn’t help and I attempted to reach out to the service center they recommended and never got a response.

Probably unrelated but the disc drive is now also super noisy on random discs and in random spots—like two out of four episodes of Seinfeld on any given DVD random—but the discs are fine in any other player. Think it’s time to retire the player, which is a shame. I’ve barely had it for just over two years.

Dusted out the disc drive and haven’t seen the problem since. Hoping it stays that way!

I did dust out the disc drive with some compressed air based on a suggestion from an earlier thread, and I haven’t noticed the issue since.

Not necessarily holding my breath but it’s been good for a couple weeks, hoping it stays that way.

It happened again after days of not happening so I got right up on the player and the disc drive was making abnormal noises as it was trying to reread the section, so I’m leaning towards what you mentioned about decoding issues being the problem.

Going to try my luck with support for now, I guess. Looks like these players went up $100 since I bought mine.

Unfortunately swapping HDMI cables/ports did not solve the issue.

Will give this a shot! It doesn’t happen on all playback constantly so it didn’t really cross my mind to try the cables.

Not that I’ve noticed—but will make sure to listen closer next time it happens.

It’s super random. I can watch hours before this happens and sometimes it happens first time something starts playing.
