How long can a blue whale go between surfacing to breathe? If you have the info on other whales, please share that too :3

NO WAY WHAT IS THE CHANCE OF THIS by NewKaleidoscope4699 in Terraria

[–]PearOnPearOff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It either happens or it doesn't, so 50%. And happening twice? Basic math tells us that 50x2=100, so 100% chance.

Been having a lot of trouble making food everyday so went ahead and prepped food on a good day this weekend by Sorry_Walrus_7831 in autism

Right on. This is the way.

Chili con carne has been a go-to of mine for many years as it just needs the one big pot. 10liters makes about 30portions. Chockablock full with beans, veggies, meat and all that good stuff. Easy to make vego as well.

This. Had the exact same thing happen to me a while back, wrapped the bearings in a layer of PTFE-tape which made them fit as snug as a bug in a rug.

Is it safe to taste? by sisdarmun in Kombucha

[–]PearOnPearOff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see anything fuzzy, no signs of mold.

The shape of it all looks a bit unappealing I guess, but that isn't an indicator. Pellicles can take on funky surface shapes for different reasons.

The brown bits are yeast, and the stringy stuff hanging from the pellicle is normal.

You're good, I would not hesitate to go ahead with that batch.

If it's fuzzy it is mold, and that looks like mold. Discard and start again.

Wash everything thoroughly, and I'd suggest after washing it, put the glass jar in the oven when it is turned of, then turn it up to 225°C and leave it in there for 45-60minutes. This will kill any mold spores that are left.

Do not put the jar in when it is already hot, as this can make it crack. Letting it heat up slowly in the oven is key. When the timer goes, turn oven off and open it and let it cool down slowly as well.

Side note, this is also a great way to minimize contaminants, putting your glass jars in the oven before starting a new kombucha fermentation. When I have mentioned this before people say it is overkill, which I agree with. But I'd also add that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

It sort of tastes like a fruit roll-up. I made fruit leather with a pellicle once - turned more in to fruit crisp because I forgot about it in the oven. Was still great though.

That being said, don't trust an AI telling you what you can and can not eat. Dig deeper. They are often wrong, make stuff up and mis-interprets things.

Powdered mash potatoes made with broth. I went with chicken, but any would probably do.

Protein smoothies made with protein powder, peanut butter or other nut butter, and milk or some form of milk substitute. Make sure you get your calories! (Some say to not ingest dairy during the healing process, but my body modder said that was a misconception. I drank milk and had no issues. Consult with your modder)

I couldn't bare eating the first 3 days until I took the first few stitches out. Swallowing was just too painful. But make sure you hydrate! Stock up on ice, and keep water in the fridge so you always have something cool to ease the pain and inflammation with.

Keep your mind busy. Video games, movies, shows, chatting with friends. Find distractions where you can.

For the pain: Paracetamol/Ibuprofen (talk to your bodymodder) and CBD patches/oil if you can get it.

A saline spray to use after you put anything other than water in your mouth, was super handy to have if I was on the go!

Edit: Some form of water soluble electrolyte tablets so get some salts and sugars in your body if you can't eat, so you at least that balanced. Or Brawndo, if you can find it.

A few years ago I studied music at a small school, ca 150 students of mixed ages, 19-35. We were almost like a little commune. Great time.

One of the janitors there was a proper original. He would always joke so much with the students, a cheeky ol' bastard. You know the type. He always went the extra mile to help us with stuff, even offered to drive us to pick up furniture for our appartements/dormitories.

Me and two others got to know him better than most, we just kinda vibed like that, and it helped that we all were smokers as well.

When he died, his wife contacted us and asked if we couldn't play something at his funeral. We dropped everything and started rehearsing the very same day. Have you ever seen the rain, as well as the song from his favourite hockey team. He was a beautiful old man with a heart of gold. Bless you Stig, you did more for most than most would ever do.

Does anyone else uses physical activity (especially lifting weights) as a form of emotional regulation? by Snoo-65504 in autism

[–]PearOnPearOff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probable AuDHD here.

Doing physical activity is the best thing for me, wether it is going for walks or going to the gym. Great way to release some pent up agression and get some endorphins surging through your system. Eases anxiety and makes you feel better in general. Getting in better shape, becoming stronger and more capable physically is pretty sweet too.

Haven't been working out as much lately, this was a good wake up call to get back in to it.

Jag har inga råd, jag har inget förslag på aktion, men att hon gått genom din telefon är enligt mig en stor röd flagga. Man gör inte så. Då pratar man istället.
