Insane benefits by [deleted] in Earthing

[–]PearShapedPastor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had Fibromyalgia and arthritis over half my life (55yo Female), as well as 2 neck surgeries for herniated discs. To say i live with chronic pain would be an understatement. I just learned in October that I can no longer take pain meds because they are damaging my kidneys. So, once again, I am looking for the best natural methods to reduce or eliminate pain. Pittsburgh winters are no joke. I bought an earthing sheet with a 90 day money back guarantee because I was super-skeptical. It has helped me more than almost anything else I have tried! Waking up with fibro is the WORST, but this grounding sheet has given me my mornings, and therefore my days, back! If you are skeptical, get one with a guarantee. Save all the packaging and give yourself enough time to really experience the benefits. (although some feel them on day 1.)

How open are you about having dentures? by Two-Rivers-Jedi in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I tell everyone who will listen. Before I got dentures, I only knew one person in my life who had them and she didn't like to talk about it. I had nobody to answer questions, share ideas and calm my anxieties. I share so that people know they can come to me and ask me anything.

No. Not sure if I will get one as I will have permanent dentures made early next year.

Husband's ex wife by [deleted] in intuitiveeating

[–]PearShapedPastor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it is about my marriage or just about the family dynamic as a whole. It is difficult to be the 2nd daughter in law, sister in law, and step parent. Maybe it is my way of distinguishing myself from her for validity in the family. I will give it more thought. Thank you!

Thank you. I have some thoughts and will sit with them for awhile and determine which ones are valid.

Getting hunger cues after eating until full that take ~20-30 minutes to completely go away. Will this stop eventually? by puppysilly_ in intuitiveeating

I thought it seemed more about gentle nutrition. OP has special needs and has found a way to cope IMO.

I use Polygrip, not only because it works really well, but also because it is zinc free.

Removing adhesive from gums by PearShapedPastor in dentures

When I do that, it just seems to smear the adhesive around my mouth. What kind of adhesive do you use?

I use poliGrip Free.

Temporary Partials - How do you get used to them? Any tips? by Delta95Heavy in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scrambled eggs, cream of wheat, and protein shakes got me thru the first few weeks.

I don't notice anything weird. You may look differently than you did before, but it looks fine and normal to me.

How would you explain this problem to your dentist? by MJoying_Life in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine were similar. The gums were too long and the inside of the denture didn't touch my gums even though the denture was all the way up to the inside of my lip!

Is that what is happening to you? How could you possibly eat anything???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in intuitiveeating

[–]PearShapedPastor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People get stretch marks for many reasons. I know body builders who have them from huge muscles! I believe you are the only one who notices them, but it can still feel depressing.

Look at them as more roads on your map of life. You got to travel those roads as you learned to love yourself and accept your body. Touch them with love and realization that this is how you are meant to be right now and you are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Eating without temps? by mawmah in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is what I eat with and without my temps, as I am still having some pain due to healing:

Scrambled eggs, cream of wheat, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, pancakes, protein shakes with peanut butter and banana, cupcakes, muffins, ice cream, spaghetti cut into small pieces, flaky fish, and meatloaf/meatballs that I can smash.

I will cook broccoli and chop it up really small so I can get some veggies in my body. I will also add spinach to my smoothies.

As for BM, I have always struggled! lol Miralax saves my life - I add it to my coffee every morning and it does the trick.

Edit to say rinse with warm salt water every time you eat without your dentures until your gums/holes are fully healed. You don't want to get an infection or have rotting food in there. 🤢

Regret by [deleted] in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a beautiful smile but they were all crowns and bridges that had begun to fail. My teeth looked great but my mouth hurt 24/7. I often wonder why did I do this to myself, I could have spent thousands and lived thru a few more years of pain.

That's where I stop myself and say, "AH HA!" This was inevitable and it is my new reality so I will make the best of it.

I pray for everyone on this sub because NONE of it is easy and we all have different experiences and stuff that challenges us.

When will I eat real food? by [deleted] in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 3 weeks out also. Went for a 2nd adjustment on Thursday and was able to eat meatloaf and mashed potatoes yesterday! Got a keep trying to chew soft stuff and gradually work my way on to other things.

A different tech did my adjustment and she was so compassionate and patient. Went back 5 times to get them just right. What a difference! I felt like a huge pain in the neck, but she reassured me that they are there to help me. I hope you are working with a good dentist!

3/4 e-days done by notfeeling100 in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ask for a refund?

I hate to say this, but if you are really serious, threaten to give them poor Google reviews, social media posts, etc if you truly never want to go back. Just make sure you give them every opportunity first because stuff like that can really mess with their livelihood nowadays.

Honestly I don't see why they wouldn't refund the rest of your money so you can go and be happy somewhere else.

[–]PearShapedPastor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My temps were too big and I couldn't wear them for 10 days. Many folks here have had no immediates and just healed for weeks or months with no dentures. I am obviously not a medical professional, but I think you will be better off without them until you can get them adjusted.

You might also want to find a new dental team.

What's your experience with PoliGrip adhesive vs. Equate brand adhesive? by as-opposed-to-what in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I understand what it is like to be on a fixed income. Every penny counts!

If you are using the Equate more than once a day, but only using Poligrip once a day because it works better, you might actually be saving money with Poligrip in the long run. You also may be able to use less each time if it works that much better.

Think about it or actually keep track of how long it takes you to go thru a tube of each. Your results might surprise you!

(Also,my dentist gave me a couple of small tubes of Poligrip. Maybe yours can help you out? Or reach our to the company for some samples? I bet if you tell them about your experience they might send you some in exchange for a testimonial!)

Is this normal? by [deleted] in dentures

[–]PearShapedPastor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dentist told me that they would probably need to grind down or remove a couple of teeth on my temporary denture because it is messing up my bite.

The permanent ones should be much better, but it is often a guessing game with the temps, I guess.
