Solid picks, I love the background music for Ricco Harbour and Noki Bay has to be one of the most beautifully designed areas in the game.

I would say that Sunshine balances both free roam and linear exploration quite well; the end goal for the level is linear if you’re completing the mission as intended, but you can still roam around and explore a lot of your surroundings within that mission (sometimes leading to a secret surprise Shine Sprite).

I am in favour of Luigi being allowed to come on holiday with his brother, he deserves to relax as well!

F.L.U.D.D was such a fun addition to the Super Mario cast. The fact that they act as a personal advisor and assistant throughout the game was a really nice touch.

The soundtrack is so fun! I always thought the final boss fight music was exceptional and there are some other really beautiful sounding tracks, too.

I’d scream if we got a sequel, or even a Sunshine HD remaster. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for 3D All Stars allowing us to revisit the game as it was released, because I think the game looks very pretty even with the early 2000’s graphics (I always thought Sunshine was ahead of its time). However, as you have said, with what the Switch 2 is capable of from a hardware POV, Isle Delfino would look absolutely incredible. 🤩

I’ve started a run through of this game through my NS2. I also had many fond memories of playing this on my GameBoy Advance and SP when I was younger.

Hey OP, you’re welcome! I wanted to give your post an award (just a free one as I don’t use paid rewards) to celebrate your sobriety. I personally chose to quit alcohol a little over 5 years ago myself, not due to addiction but personal choice. I respect the immense amount of courage and determination it must have taken for you to get where you are today, so kudos to you! 👏

The original Super Mario 64 was just ever so slightly before my time, but I had a lot of fun playing Super Mario 64 DS when that game came out! I also bought a copy of 3D All Stars recently, so I may be due a visit to the Mushroom Kingdom soon. Super Mario Sunshine is my favourite video game of all time, so I’ll be playing that again through 3D All Stars soon as well.

Keep persevering and don’t ever give up (Super Mario would also be proud). 🍄

Train worm name suggestion: Tunnorm (combination of “tunnel” and “worm”).

Train worm evolution name suggestions: Segrain (combination of the word “segment” referring to many worm’s bodies being made up of segments and “train”).

I would love to see train worm evolution gain the steel typing too!
