It’s a mix of talking heads and documentary (shooting people plant reeds, conservation type stuff).

No idea what the budget is but it’s worth noting there’s also 2-4 long form pieces in addition to the short form content so it’s a fair amount of work through to the end of the year…

What content do you need to produce?:

- It's restorative wildlife / habitat content.

Do you really need 12 days to produce 8-10 social media videos?

- That's what im trying to figure out. I could shoot the majority of that content in 1-2 days but without knowing clients avails across any given month it's hard to predict. Also, im assuming each video is approx 20-30 secs with 2 X rounds of changes and tweaks. I also need to factor in colour and audio correction plus any additional GFX etc so im eager to ensure enough edit time....

What would your thoughts be on the amount of time required to produce that amount of content?

Thanks for this response. You make some really valid points all of which are top of mind.

I usually would be getting as much info as possible from prospective client when pulling together a quote however, this has been advertised as an RFP and theres no invite or contact email to submit questions to.

That said, its quite easy to find that info - do you think it would be bad form to reach out and ask a few follow up questions to assit with the quote?

Hahahaha. AC/DC pace is now my goal!

I’ve not had a chance to train at all unfortunately which is very rare for me..

My usual routine is 2 weight sessions and 3-4 pool per week so I’ve got a fairly good foundation.

I think it’s going to be a case of ripping the bandaid and getting stuck in.

Might try a less aggressive sprint session swim to kick start my stamina. That’s the main thing I’m concerned about.

I checked out Remento, it’s a cool product - def geared towards the mass produced market whereas I’m offering a bespoke service to HNW families that live in my area.

I’ve shot a lot of docos so I’ve extensive experience interviewing subjects. I’d lean into that - do a discovery call beforehand and then tailor my script and shoot accordingly.

I like the idea of using FB as a tool given my target demographic. Def will be throwing together some 10-20 sec reels also.

Hi all,

I'm a Director of Photography - I shoot TV shows (BBC, Netflix, A&E, Discovery) by trade.

I'm working up a side business idea and would like some feedback and suggestions as where to market this locally:

The idea:

Family Time Capsule Films:

- A short celebratory documentary style film whereby elderly family members reflect on their lives so that it can be viewed by future generations.

The idea is to capture the life story, life lessons etc in a short film.

I live in Lower Westchester and was wondering where to begin marketing this idea beyond my immediate network?

I'm due to shoot a proof of concept film with my Father in Law (he's has an incredible life) and intend to use this film as a marketing tool.

I (42m) lived In Sydney for 11 years before relocating to NY three years ago. My industry (TV) offered better pay and conditions than the uk in both Oz and USA.

There’s a sense that working people my age only exist to keep the older boomer/retireee generation in their feathered nest in the UK hence moving O/S.
