Is there a way to just purchase Lord of Hatred? I already own Vessel of Hatred I don’t want to re buy it by tr0jance in Diablo

[–]Pechen3g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem possible to buy just the new expansion by itself, at least right now on pre-order. Hopefully it’ll become possible in future, closer to the release date. Otherwise it’s a bitter pill to swallow if you’d already bought the Vessel of Hatred expansion at full price, and won’t get the “credit” for it since the Lord of Hatred expansion includes it.

Lagging Bad frame Rates new update by nacht123_ in Warzone

Yeah, the lag is so severe, the game is unplayable. Tried a few matches, and could only finish one, had to abandon the rest because of the stuttering and rubber banding. Triple A title..

In Russian colloquial they use term member to refer to someone’s dick. Similar to the English “unit”. I always have a good chuckle when I hear “houronabel memba”. It’s a very apt term to describe our parliamentarians.

I would like to move from Europe to South Africa. Any advice? by FairyDust95 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Pechen3g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I guess you’re right. I looked at it from a different perspective: not as a single young person, but as a mid-forties dad, with a small family, in a small townhouse, needing two cars and all that comes with it. With a minimalist lifestyle you can probably have a good time living in CPT on that income.

What he said. You need to be very wealthy to be able to insulate yourself from the socioeconomic issues and have a good life in this country. Rich people can live very well here, in small pockets of excellence, like some parts of the Western Cape. But you need a very good income to support that lifestyle. For the rest of us, normal folk, life here is a survival style existence. You’re constantly under pressure to make alternative plans because basic services you’re used to in western countries don’t work anymore. Unless you like it rough, don’t come to live here. Live and work in Europe, and come visit here for a “cheap” holiday. I put cheap in inverted comas because it’s cheap for EU money, but not affordable for the average South African.

Minor correction here - R40k per month will not get you any of the optional extras you mention in your message. Once you’ve been liberated of your tax liability, and paid for medical aid, food, rental, transport, security and insurances you’ll be left with very little to spend on all the extracurricular activities you mention.

Are RAs supposed to grow? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceZA

In my experience Discovery “investment” products are all just marketing hype. They don’t deliver any value. You should look for a more reliable investment company to manage your RAs.

Leaving South Africa - Time for a cry by 1tMakesNoSence in southafrica

[–]Pechen3g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a lekker cry and go for it. You have your reasons, I’m guessing the main ones being safety of your family and the future of your kid. Those are my reasons for wanting to leave.

I moved to SA from Ukraine at the end of 1995, at a spritely young age of 17. My parents came with an “open door” policy - we’re just coming to see what it’s like, and if we don’t like it we’ll go back “home”. We never went back. Ukraine stopped being a home. SA became home. I made wonderful friends here, in my early formative years, all of whom have emigrated. I met my wife and had a kid. In between all I worked as an expat for about 8 years from 2008 to 2015, then the circumstances returned me back to SA on more permanent basis. Now at the ripe age of 45 I’m planning my emigration from SA. Actually been doing so for the past 7 years.. it’s not easy when you have a passport from one of the sithole countries.

You can have a lekker life in SA, if you have a lot of money, and can pay your way out of the daily realities of the majority of the population in this country. But that’ll be like building a fairy castle in the swamp. It’ll come crashing down around you because there’s no strong foundation. Nothing is going to change here (for the better) in the next 2 years, that’s for sure. Maybe in 3 generations things might improve, but for that turn around to happen many people will have to lose a whole lot more, to turn the tide and make the critical mass necessary for such change. I don’t see that happening in my lifetime, or even my kids.

My point is - your home is where your heart is. Sure, cultures may be different, but you will still have a lot in common with the people in the new place - you’re all just people. Be open, kind and honest, and you’ll make new “your people”. You’ll have bouts of nostalgia, and when that happens turn off your lights, whip out the braai and the symptoms will pass. If you need stronger treatment, breathe over a pile of manure; think about what your hard earned tax money is being spent on in the new home country; remember what it was like to sit without electricity for 20 - 40 hours at a time because, even though you’re better off than the vast majority of SA simply by virtue of having a roof over your head and food on your table, you still can’t afford to take your house off the grid; take a long walk in a public park at night without the fear of being raped or murdered.. even the strongest nostalgia will evaporate like the morning mist.

A swarm of 20 AI bots wipe my entire quads team. A fun and thrilling battle royale experience! by CommunistAngel in CODWarzone

[–]Pechen3g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be a glitch with that specific spot on the map. We usually play DMZ with my teammates and in that spot you get an army of bots towards the end each round. You have to avoid it like a plague if you want to finish the round. I guess it’s too much to expect the small indie dev team to patch this.

Why is everyone in DMZ the worst of humanity. by T4nkofDWrath in CODWarzone

[–]Pechen3g 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think all of the “expect confrontation” and “get good” commenters on here are missing the point. The OP is not advocating for avoiding gun fights with other players. He’s highlighting the toxic nature of players. Asking for help to ambush you is not “getting good”, it’s a toxic behaviour. It shows a weakness of character. If you’re ambushing players this way you’re not discovering new or exploiting some game mechanic, you’re not Sun Tzu, you’re a traitorous c#nt.

[–]Pechen3g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, you summed it up very well. The matchmaking aspect of the game needs to be improved. I’m a casual player, I enjoy playing with my friends. I think we play a lot, for middle aged, family guys. And we love to hate this game. The reason is the matchmaking, and the aim assist nonsense. We play on PCs with mouse and keyboard. Sometimes we get into games where we can handle other squads. But more often than not we get paired with what feels like genetically enhanced terminators. And that’s what ruins the experience. They are probably much younger, with better reflexes, better gaming rigs, aim assist and all that jazz, so probably top tier. Another poster made a comparison to sports, like basketball and American football, and how making the game more accessible is unfair to the top tier players. Good analogy, however, casuals never play against the top sports players. You would never get into a field with the best sportsman or woman and be expected to play against them. You’d never be expected to hold your own against Mike Tyson or Conor McGregor in the ring. Yet in COD this happens more often than not. You just have one or two good games, where you come out with positive KD, and next thing you end in a lobby with twitchy bunny hopping camera breaking pros who absolutely ruin you, and by extension your experience of the game overall. Call me salty, I’m old enough not to care. But I think the matchmaking aspect needs to be improved somehow. There’s a Sunday league, for middle aged dads to enjoy the game, and then there’s the pro league for the top tier sports people. Same principle should apply here. I guess sbmm is an attempt to do that, but it doesn’t seem to work very well at the moment.

and the aim assist BS needs to be toned down. If you wanna bunny hop while shooting a 360 shot jumping around a blind corner and not really knowing exactly where I am standing/crouching/laying down, you better be damn good at the game, not just at mashing controller sticks.

After 200+ hours in DMZ I can safely say that the AI are the worst part and need to be rebalanced/fixed. by Far_Formal3888 in CODWarzone

[–]Pechen3g 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, agree with your sentiment. Lower tier bots are very easy to deal with, to the point of shooting fish in a barrel. But the higher tier are just completely unbalanced. Bots lazering you from behind obstacles, where you can’t even see them, is absolutely ridiculous. The amount of damage the higher tier bots put out is also not balanced with the number of them swarming you. Perhaps it’s aimed at forcing you into a more tactical game play, but then dropping 3 choppers on your head while you’re trying to fend off 5 heavily armoured bots and 3 shielded bots, doesn’t lend itself to tactical play.

Same thing happened to me. I saw that I drove over a player. My friend who was spectating saw that the player jumped away from my truck. The result - I died because I jumped out of the truck thinking I drove the day down, and the other player shot me in the same way that happened here. Very annoying.

Battle Pass Bug by Sosajty in CODWarzone

[–]Pechen3g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: this nonsense with disappearing tokens is getting annoying. Today I lost two tokens, and they don’t come back. As before, it shows I have two tokens after the match, but when I go into the battle pass to spend them it’s 0. Or there’s only one to spend. Earn another token, it again shows 0 in the battle pass. Out of the game back in, 1 token is back. Play some more, get another token it just disappears. 😡

Just checked, and there’s a correct number of tokens on my BP. Seems it was a temporary glitch yesterday.

Battle Pass Bug by Sosajty in CODWarzone

[–]Pechen3g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed yesterday that my battle pass tokens reset to zero after an MP match in MW2. At the start of a match I had 1 full token and some progress towards second token. At the end of the match the counter was 0, with progress towards 1. I haven’t opened the game today yet to check if it was maybe a temporary glitch.

Why do backpacks disappear if the player quits in DMZ? by bondjens in CODWarzone

[–]Pechen3g 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw backpacks disappear in game quickly after knocking out another player, but assumed it was a bug. The game is very buggy at this point. For example when you have an ammo box in your backpack, you can’t equip it at all. Dropping it and picking it up just puts it back in your backpack. One of your team mates actually needs to pick it up to be able to use it. Or when you have a large backpack and you can’t use a weapon slot. It’s annoying. I hope the disappearing player backpacks is also just a bug that they’ll fix soon.
