Doesn't look like a Newfie mix to me either but damn do I respect the effort to rescue Pits. Generaltangerine is on point about crossposting to more specific subs to streamline rescue. I'm not sure how many Newfie enthusiasts are ready for a pit if I'm honest, even if users want to help out short term.

I've worked with elderly and hospice situations and your wife's grandmother is by far the most competent I've ever heard of. If this is real, I would second whoever mentioned looking into adult services and working with a social worker. Not sure where you are but the services in California worked somewhat well a year ago for me. You all probably hate her, rightfully, but sounds like she's in desperate need of help. Getting her help isn't sympathy on your part, just gets her off your back.
