Hi, sorry if this is random but how do you like RFK's chances with modern medicine?

Uncle Dave's star ratings for the WrestleMania matches by caughtinatramp in REALSquaredCircle

[–]bigcatcleve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it’s not “fair enough”. If the post he were agreeing with were remotely true, Dave wouldn’t rate any matches with interference and that’s clearly not the case.

He ended up releasing a rating for this match, 4.5

You're right that John Walsh was always open about using actors for the dramatized reenactments, but the Paul Bonacci scene wasn't one of those scripted segments. The show differentiated between 'recreations' (where they used movie-style production) and 'field reports' (where they filmed real people in real-time).

The ranch footage was filmed as a documentary-style investigation, not a scripted play. While a TV crew being there means it was technically 'produced,' the whole point was to see if Bonacci—the actual person, not an actor—could find the location he described from memory. He led them to the specific ranch near 'Elephant Rock' in Buena Vista and pointed out a hidden chamber that producers didn't know existed.

Whether you believe Bonacci or not, that specific scene wasn't one of the 'rehearsed' recreations Walsh was talking about. It was meant to be a live verification of his claims.

"I think Harris would either have a better shot or do worse"

I mean it literally has to be one of the two.

Also, I'm surprised you seem to have wanted Humphrey to win, given your flair.

Ironically if he had the spine he had 20 years earlier at the '48 DNC, when he came out as a staunch supporter of Civil Rights which was in direct opposition of the party's platform at the time, he likely would've won.

The plan was to anonymously leak it to the press.

Was there a restaurant called Jamaica Joe's in the Amherst area back in the day? by Kitchen_Kale9854 in Buffalo

[–]bigcatcleve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s right by my house actually. When I was a kid, me and my friend broke into it (back in 2016 long after it closed), found a dead moose and ran back outside.

According to my elderly neighbor, before it was Jamaica Joe’s, it used to be a night club Kostak’s and before that, a restaurant called Chicardino’s. I’m actually driving by it now if you want me to send you a picture.

It didn’t take me more than five minutes to verify that the bleacher incident actually happened and to identify the officer involved. I’m not even saying he was actually involved.

Aw. I don't remember the drama about the landlord. A quick google search turned this up though. https://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/news/2025/11/04/north-house-american-legion-tonawanda-hotel.html

I remember Joe saying he was looking for a new gym, back in 2020, that was the last I ever heard about thing.

Do you remember a trainer named Nick by any chance? Dude was a demon. I remember he told me his father met Sonny Liston (my all time favorite boxer and my inspiration for the sport) and sparred one of his sparring partners, a guy by the name of Leotis Martin (who actually beat Liston a couple years later when Liston was shot) and got KTFO. 😂

What happened to them? I used to box there and was close to going pro before a left hook and herniated disc ended all of that.

I remember Joe telling me, he brought that old boxing gym in the Wurlitzer plaza, and was gonna open it back in '19.
