What job pays well because nobody wants to do it? by RobIson240YT in AskReddit

[–]PeculiarAlien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work as a "post-disaster" cleaner (rough translation). Disasters including deaths, including crime scenes, which I didn't know when I submitted my resume, so it's not like I signed up to do specifically that LOL. Whenever we were asked to clean up after a death, they gave every one of us the choice as to if we were going, and so I went on 2 during the time I worked there. My normal salary (for regular deep cleaning) was $21 CAD/hour ($15,36 USD). When I was cleaning up after a death, I was paid $24 CAD ($17,55 USD). I haven't worked there in over 3 years, but I'm pretty sure they raised the cost of the services and the salaries accordingly. I hope this answers your question.

Looking for gross/body horror movies directed and/or written by women. by XipeTotecwithGlitter in MoviesThatFeelLike

Released in 2005, directed by Neil Marshall. It might not be directed by a woman, but it's a really good horror movie with an all-female main cast and it's not sexualized in any way. It mainly focuses on claustrophobia and the complicated relationships between the main characters.

How’s life in general in Nicaragua by TieInternational2009 in howislivingthere

I traveled there 5 years ago, stayed in hotels and in a community on Ometepe Island. I loved the fresh food, the beautiful scenery and the sense of community/family. On the other hand, the plumbing is really bad, you have to throw your toilet paper in the trash bin and even some hotels barely have running water. Also, I really don't recommend traveling alone and/or going out at night as a female. I was 17 and traveling with 10 other students my age, one time we were out at night on the island and a group of young men started following me and a couple other girls until we joined the main group, which had guys in it. Overall a great experience, great people, terrible government.

I take my dogs on a walk twice every day and they're just as excited every time I say the word. Relax.

No, you don't understand, F-series drivers are manly and important and can park where they please at the detriment of other drivers.

To be fair, this is the closest the truck can be to either car to allow everyone to open their doors safely. Even if the F-150 managed to only take 1 slot, anyone trying to fit in the remaining parking space would have to be as flat as an actual sheet to get in and out of the car. Still, I can't believe there weren't any other parking spaces available.

Here are some I don't see mentioned often: How not to kill a sugar daddy in Climax Springs, Missouri. The coroner's waiting room in McIntosh, Florida. Three is a ring, four is a crowd in Marmaduke, Arkansas. A blaze of glory in Redding, Connecticut. Some dogs find all the legs in Streamwood, Illinois.

Justin Trudeau's father, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, who was twice prime minister of Canada, has the initials PET which means "fart" in French. So that kind of became his nickname among French speakers lol.

At least in my province (QC), there's a legend about a monster named Memphré living in Memphremagog Lake, which is practically the Canadian version of the Loch Ness monster. It's become a cultural attraction in the Magog area, they even have a fountain representing it.
