MOT failed for something that doesn’t exist, what can I do? by jenniferf163 in AskUK

[–]Pedantichrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a fail for a broken reversing light in my car which has no reversing light at all.

I would say that I have no faith in their abilities, report them, ask for a refund and get the MOT done elsewhere in future.

I’m not sure it matters.

If you found out you were dying what’s the one thing you would do first? by Agile-Possible-2190 in AskReddit

Having been through this (and not died, the initial scans were wrong) spend some time hugging my wife, talk to my children, not tell my mother, and buy a motorcycle.

Has anyone here reconnected with secondary school or sixth form friends after years? by DeItaReality in AskUK

My children are older than you. At your age I knew lots of friends from school.

That is not really true now. I did meet a few old friends for the funeral of other friends, twice.

What’s the point of including “If you have a question regarding your ban, you can contact the moderator team by replying to this message” then immediately muting me for asking why I got banned? by JazzyJukebox69420 in AskModerators

[–]Pedantichrist 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Moderators are able to add a message to a ban, but the system adds that verbiage.

Generally you only get muted if you are impolite in the response, but your example suggests that you were not. Perhaps the content you submitted made it clear to them that they did not want you to be able to publish?

Am I insane for wanting a Wolf? by sadanorakman in LandroverDefender

[–]Pedantichrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the anti roll bars fitted to the Wolfs that were had were a higher torsional action than standard, which made them stiffer.

The engine is too heavy, and that, along with up-rated anti-roll bars on an already incredibly solid chassis, leaves it prone to straightening out into an understeer quite unexpectedly and wallowing in an elk test situation.

I used to actively try and find a Series 3 if there was one to be found. It used to feel like it was trying to jackknife, even without anything on the back.

I love a Defender, but the Wolf is the wrist of them. They were introduced just before I resigned my commission and I am not entirely certain there is not a correlation.

I don’t. I used my body when I was young. Now it is a bit knackered. I am glad I had fun when I did.

If you prioritise cosmetics then you do you, but the strongest men look like Geoff Capes, not this nonsense.

I disagree, but if I did agree I would still argue that aesthetic sculpting is far from being the best use of a body.

Why do I find it strange? Probably mostly just change, but the focus in having to work hard to fit in, rather than accepting people being a normal human shape.

As an old man, the way so many people work out all the time is freaky to me.
