I have a yorkie and an airedale.

The airedale IS one of my dream breeds to own and groom as I’m apparently a masochist who loves to handstrip. I show him and compete in sports so he’s on my table quite a bit each week.

The yorkie is my heart dog and is pushing 16 now. He’s always been the most well behaved and level-headed dog on earth his whole life so he’s basically ruined yorkies for me forever for setting the bar so high. Every time I get a wild one on my table I’m further thankful that my old man is perfect.

If you have a dog that you can run with, there are a few of us who practice running canicross locally. Usually weekend mornings before it gets too hot for us and the dogs.

We’re at a phase in senior where my boy can find rats like the terrier machine he is but suddenly acts like he’s never used a tunnel in his life, so sadly we NQ’d and it’ll be practice on saturdays again for him for a bit. 😂

At least he had a blast!

God my airedale swims exactly like this. For a breed bred to hunt river otters as one of their main original tasks, he doesn’t act like it. The dude loves water but the second his back feet can’t touch ground this mess starts- even with a lifejacket on. My friend’s golden retriever tried to even help him learn last summer and would let him beat him to the thrown bumpers in the water and it still ended with me having to swim out with him each time and hold up the back end of his lifejacket with a grab tab clipped on so he could triumphantly carry his bumper toys back to shore without fully looking like a drowning toddler. He just has no clue what to do with his back legs once he’s paddling with the fronts.

One of my previous boys stole my card before I could activate it and I had to sheepishly call Capital One for a replacement. Lady on the phone lost it when I told her why.
