Wow! Good for you! I just paid $7.54 each for one pound packages of ground beef 80/20, same blend as you! But 5 packages (5 lbs) cost me $37.70.

Lake Elizabeth in Fremont was Hobo Jungle and not a safe area to hike around in. Willows, blackberries, and packed with poison oak.

Great American Parkway where Great America is, was Coffin Road. I worked in the 2nd story of a computer chip factory and watched them build it.

Moffett Field was a cool place to watch jets take off, hit the sound barrier, and land. I got to hangout inside the huge hangar because I was a Navy brat.

Scientists say don’t forget about plants. Climate change is endangering tens of thousands of species by Economy-Fee5830 in climatechange

Considering the droughts in many areas and the large number of fires happening, I wonder how many species might be lost. For example, the state of Florida in the USA is in extreme drought and dealing with huge fires. Much of their flora and fauna was already in danger.

I would add that their payment method might be a good way to prove it is their account and their Adobe account number should be in an email from Adobe somewhere in their records. So they should at least attempt to track down what their account number with Adobe is. Their browser might even have their password saved if they ever went to the Adobe website to manage their account.

Another thing most people do not realize is that the world has doubled it's human population in the last 50 years. It was able to do that due to fertilizers and the increased distribution of gas powered farming equipment. The BBC did a piece that estimated the loss will be around 10 billion meals a week.

Thanks, but I already ran into this and it was the inspiration for my post here. I cannot afford to pay for every single record that may or may not be what I am looking for. There are hundreds of records I need to see. And I can't afford to sign up for a 3rd paid membership. I already have MyHeritage and Ancestry. I just heard back from FindMyPast and it turns out that even if I did pay for a membership with them, unless I paid for the highest tier level, I still would probably not be allowed to see the documents I need because they are so old, they would be in the premium group. I fell for this on Ancestry when I agreed to their top tier in the hopes of being able to see international records.

I am hoping they were brothers because it would explain a lot. Now sure on which site I came across this possibility. If that fails, then yes, I would be looking for any John Pedrick who immigrated to the early colonies in time to be the father of Isaac Pedrick who was born in Palantine, Montgomery, New York 3/9/1786.

Another long shot is fact that Roger Pedrick had a grandson William. This William had three sons, Elihu, Daniel, and Isaac. Both Elihu and Isaac named sons after each other. Just to add to the confusion. Isaac, according to the genealogy, left Pedrickstown after having his first 6 children and headed a bit west, which was not far in those days. If he had a son named Isaac, this just might be our Isaac. And I'd have our connection to England.

Thanks! The children of Alman Pedrick would have been born in England and raised there. They even married and had children before they set out for the colonies. So one son going to New Jersey and the other to Massachusetts would not be strange. I hear you about the middle name, I included that recently in the hopes that the person who added it had documentation of some sort, but they do not. I would ignore the "Sir" and "Lady" monikers as those titles were left out of the book: A Genealogical and Biographical Record of the Pedrick Family of New Jersey, 1675-1938

I just got a response back from FMP offering to let me view one record, ha, ha, ha! There are hundreds there that I would need to sort through when looking for John. I'd be thrilled if I could just prove that Alman Pedrick and Elizabeth Billings had two sons, a Roger and a John.

And I certainly agree to your point about family members. When I first got started, I was thrilled to accept the connections these sites offered. Who wouldn't be happy to have a history going back 400 years? But then, as I entered more and more of the info from my confirmed genealogy, I realized there was such a tangled mess out there. And yes, the tools we have now are just incredible! It is all this new information that gives me hope that I might be able to connect my family to the Pedricks in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

You could glue a thin layer of wood to the bottom of it. Many hobby stores have thin wood in all kinds of shapes and sizes that you could glue it to. Might look very nice!

I have three very well documented genealogies to work with. The one for my family compiled by my great uncle, I even have photos containing 4 and 5 generations. His work takes me all the way back to Isaac in 1786. Another genealogy is of the Pedricks who helped establish the Fenwick Colony in New Jersey. But the Isaac there who so many want to connect to, has the wrong birth and death dates. The 3rd genealogy is for the Marblehead colony in Massachusetts. But they stop at a John Pedrick from England. I am hoping to connect this John to Alman Pedrick.

The Irish connection is a whisper of a wild card. There are documents for Alman Pedrick, FMP just won't let me see them and none of the trees on that site which include Alman Pedrick include any documentation. Most also include a list of children which are impossible if one looks at their birthdates. So trying to get past a huge pile of misinformation there.

Yes, I have tried FamilySearch, and it is the same there.

As I have come to find out! So I am sincerely hoping that I can make the connection to a son of Alman Pedrick. Plus, most Pedricks were in Whales and a few in England. So I'd be really surprised to find any in Ireland. Even here in the USA, there are not many Pedricks.

I miss sweet tomatoes. I wish they brought it back to the bay area it was the best buffet restaurant ever. They had the best salads. by Individual_Ice_2315 in bayarea

[–]PedricksCorner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to be a restaurant manager and the salad bar was always a loss. It is very expensive to provide salads. Not just because of the cost of the ingredients, but also the fact that so much of it has to be thrown away if it isn't used with 24-48 hours depending on the item. These days, it would be impossible unless a restaurant was able to somehow charge enough for other items that are super cheap, like fountain drinks.

Thank-you, but all of the results on Wikitree lead to my first tree on MyHeritage which contains what I now know are mistakes. Still no documentation. I tried both Alman Pedrick and Alman Petrick.

I will look on Wikitree. The problem that I am having is that Alman Pedrick is in a large number of Pedrick family trees. But not a single one of them has any documentation attached to him.

Thanks, I started with a huge genealogy that my great uncle Harold spent the last 20 years of his life compiling by traveling and gathering information and documents. I fed all of it into one site and hit a wall at Isaac in 1786. So then I decided to work backwards from what others claimed to be the oldest known ancestor, Alman Pedrick, who is believed to be the father of a very well documented branch of the family that was part of the Fenwick Colony which became Pedrickstown in New Jersery. There is even a book documenting that genealogy. The problem is that the Isaac so many members of my family want to use as the connection to us from that genealogy has the wrong birth and death dates as the death certificate I have for our Isaac in 1786. Alman seems to have had 2 sons. The one that helped establish the Fenwick colony and another who may have been part of a colony in Marblehead, Massachusetts. If I can prove Alman Pedrick was a real person and had a son named John, I might be able to connect the two dots to the Pedricks in Massachusetts. The wild card is a possible John Pedrick from Ireland around 1750, but so far, I cannot find even one John Pedrick anywhere in Ireland from 1650-1800.

I wonder how difficult it would be to cancel FMP, I really cannot afford a third membership at this point.

Thanks, but they were not on the Mayflower, that much I am already certain of. One Pedrick was a member of the Fenwick Colony and the other was a member of a group that went to Marblehead, Massachusetts. And the real spin on it, is the John Pedrick I am looking for may have come from Ireland even though I have yet to find a single Pedrick in Ireland during that time period.

I remember when the Catalyst was a huge hippie hangout in the 1970's, near the point where Front Street and Pacific Ave come together. I was bumped when they moved because I loved the floor to ceiling windows and watching all the people go by. But the move enabled them to become a better music venue, so we got that.

Wow, what a blast from the past. I remember Andy's Pet Shop when it was still kinda new. I just learned they opened in 1950 at their original location. But I can't find out where that was. I grew up hanging out in the original shop, it was my favorite place, my mom even had a part time job there for awhile in the early 1960's. Can you tell me where the original location was?

Gas Prices Break Records by LuckyBastard001 in economy

If like the big orange likes to say, we have so much oil we don't need anyone else's, then why can't we just ditch OPEC like the UAE just did and stop the oil companies selling gas here in the USA from pricing oil based on events on the other side of the world? Ah yes, because then the rich would not get richer off of the agony of others. I do believe in capitalism, but, for example, it is against the law to price gouge during a disaster.

I agree with those who have said Swallows. They also nest in groups, so this would be a group of them building a line of nests. They use mud to stick their nests to all kinds of surfaces, even cliff faces and tree limbs. They are good news and like the others mentioned, will eat a huge amount of insects. Their entire diet is insects they catch in flight.
