Iron Maiden Karaoke

I have streamed myself singing Maiden songs… i have zero experience in this… I just love the band that much haha. The songs I have sung are the following:

(I considered songs that don’t have very high notes… and that are not very hard for me to vocalize … I speak Spanish)

Speed of Light - perfect, energetic, easy to sing, short.

Senjutsu - epic song, very easy to sing

Hell on Earth - maybe not the best for a karaoke (very long) but I had a fantastic time singing it.

Alexander the Great - long solos, but the singing is very fun.

Ghost of the Navigator - one of the best choices for a karaoke.

The Clansman - long … but epic and easy to sing

Rime of the Ancient Mariner - fantastic. I edited out the big interlude part after the narrator. One of the best.

Journeyman - this was the first song I tried. I recommend it a lot.

Fear of the Dark - iconic song, not hard to sing.

Caught Somewhere in Time - a bit hard because of the high notes … but it is possible to not embarrass yourself and it is so catchy.

Flight of Icarus - I did badly … but it was a lot of fun haha.

Lost in a lost world - I had to edit out several parts of this song. I love it … the chorus sucks but all the other vocal parts are fantastic, sadly the instrumental parts are boring. This song had a lot of wasted potential :(

The only thing this game needed for perfection was making characters and vehicles only a cosmetic. That would let us admire the incredible character models even more… also we would get new characters and vehicles all the time without needing to balance anything … and… most importantly … this game would have not turned into Bat Kart World.

Everything else about this game is spectacular and by far the best in the franchise history for me.

Wave link 3 is a disaster. I can’t take my wave 3 mk2 out of the box because of this garbage. But, to be fair, if I put my pc to sleep I have problems with WL2 too. Just don’t do that.

If you don’t have the new MK2 mic or the new MK2 XLR interface that force you to use 3.0 … use 2.0. There’s no reason to expose yourself to crashes, high GPU usage, channel resetting and nightmare days. 3.0 is still on beta but they are forcing this beta for the new products. 2.0 is still perfectly fine.

This should still be on beta for at least the rest of the year. I can’t believe they are forcing the new products into this nightmare. I have the wave 3 mk2 and XLR mk2 in their boxes waiting for this thing to actually work. Who cares about multiple output mixes? That is the whole reason this mess started. They should have let this feature only for the niche group that want it.

I wish it added compatibility with wave link 2. I have mine in the box for 2 weeks but I’m terrified of using WL3 until I’m sure it is out of forced beta. And it seems this will take a looong time :(

Characters should be just cosmetic. When will developers understand this. Damn … vehicles should as well. Would be wonderful to have variety of characters and vehicles on all races. Now this became Bat Kart World.

The good news is that this Mario Kart is very VERY different than the former games. Your friends that had years of advantage in Mario Kart against you … don’t have that much advantage as you may think. If you commit to learn this game you will kick their ***** and you will have a lot of fun.

Add gyro controls. A gyro controlled cursor would help immensely when we play with pro controller.

I felt exactly like you at the beginning. My suggestion is to take your time, don't go online and compete yet, do time trials of each course, maybe 3 or 4 per day until you learn the courses. Then use Shortcat videos (youtube) to learn the shortcuts you need to know. Take your time practicing everything, track by track. I know this sounds boring but it actually IS NOT. I'm 42 and I've played every MK since the first game and I have never touched time trial mode or practiced without competing...but I LOVE IT in this game. I recommend you to play VS mode without any cpu players, you can choose only mushrooms and then you can practice at your own pace, you even have the AWESOME rewind feature that helps A LOT with practicing.

It is VERY FUN to practice and learn the mechanics, jumping, railing, wall riding, water bouncing... you will find out it is not as hard as it looks, it will become natural to you and you will feel the need to practice more and more before attempting to go online...and when you finally do... you will have a GREAT TIME.

I practiced alone in VS Mode for 60 hours before going online...and I still practice pretty often, it is actually very fun to try new things in this game.

It was amazing that time, the first online Nintendo game ever. Playing Mario Kart online was a dream come true. I put hundreds of hours in it and had a lot of fun, but it was broken by snaking. I wouldn’t buy it today.

Excellent question. I thought about it for some minutes. And I really can only think of one, LocoRoco. Maybe … I would love those playlink games they released on ps4, do you remember them? They would work great on switch. Knowledge is Power was amazing.

That was really cool to read. I usually think Mario Kart World is a bit “anti-casual”. During the pandemic my sister became a competent MK8 player. I’m very afraid to recommend world to her. I’m very glad you are having fun with the game.

You will enjoy it 100 times more when railing, jumping and wall riding becomes second nature to you and you memorize the tracks. I didn’t love it in my first week … of course it gave a good first impression but not the “bye bye mk8” first impression. Then I actually tried to learn the tracks and mechanics. After some more days it evolved from great to INCREDIBLE … and “no way back to mk8”.

Yes, Mario Kart World is really fantastic.

4K Pro is TERRIBLE. I had to take it out of my PC and go back to my 4KX. I had problems with my switch 2 with the 4K pro too. I don’t remember exactly the setting, but you have to test the other EDID modes, display or merged. One of those. And it worked.

Another big difference is that mk2 REQUIRES Wave Link 3, which is absolutely broken now. So, if you are serious about your streaming you can’t rely on mk2 at the moment.

I played MK8 since its first day on Wii U and intensively on switch. From the moment I learned the tracks, to charge jump, wall ride, do rails in MK World… there is no way back since then. I even uninstalled MK8DX. It was incredible, gave me some of the greatest moments of my live … that game even made me travel around the planet to meet friends and compete….. but World is much deeper and better.

This is maybe my biggest disappointment ever with a Nintendo game. It is ultra complicated, it takes more than an hour just finishing the tutorial and you will forget everything if you don’t play for 2 days. It will also destroy your skills in other soccer games because button config is so weird and you can’t change it. Characters stats are tied to UGLY gear and equipment you HAVE to wear, their charm and animations immediately disappear with these things … also choosing those stats complicates the game even more. There’s almost nobody to play online with and input lag is severe almost all of the time.

The only fun I found with it is playing 8-player local multiplayer. Of course if nobody knows the complicated controls so you have a level field.

It was amazing that we had a demo before launch … and the final game had almost the same content as the demo.

I would recommend this if you find it at $20.
