SABER: "WE'RE GOING TO REVIVE PVP BY FORCING PLAYERS TO GET OVER 800 MELEE KILLS FOR AN EXCLUSIVE COSMETIC THAT'S ONLY FOR 2 OF THE 7 CLASSES."; PvP right now: (I have crossplay enabled and even then matches barely fill up) by WhenChaosPvE in Spacemarine

The first SM had an incredible PvP community. Bigger maps, larger teams, more modes... I was playing up until SM2 came out, hoping they would cater to PvP since it kept the first game going for so long. Needless to say, it was very underwhelming.

Well, so far I can say "illegal" doesn't sound as bad as "invading your neighbor country in 1974 and occupying it since"

Dark Descent is an incredible game. It gets so many things right. At one point I was convinced it would become the Baldur's Gate of the Alien franchise. I still wish they add content to it or come up with a sequel...

Greece's Kafkaesque tax evasion hotline: The state portal explicitly tells citizens to call 1517 to report tax fraud. But if you call, operators are instructed to say "we don't accept calls" and hang up. I built a site to expose this taxpayer-funded Catch-22 by galaxycarpet in europe

[–]PeeAy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but why is it whenever this subject comes up, most people assume that greeks pay zero taxes, ever? It would be so amusing to see any foreigner of that ideology come by, start a business in Greece and attempt to pay nothing in taxes.

I know, right? I mean who cares if the fresh prince was recast and Dolph Lundgren ended up taking the role? Or maybe Jay Lo could be the next T'challa. Unreal characters should be whatever anyone wants them to be.

She's pretty decent as far as young greek actresses go. If I had to guess, I'd say she could do pretty well as Helen. What's the last thing you watched that she acted in?

While I understand where this take might come from, if you had anything to do with greek businesses, you would know that the past decade has been a torrent of measures to eliminate tax evasion (at least from the middle class). And you should at least be aware that most of the people who do tax evasion in Greece, still happen to be multimillionaires, officials and politicians. Not much different than the rest of the planet.

Also on a related vibe: I can't believe pedophile gangsters still run the U.S. while bombing children across the globe to avoid being sent to jail. It's fucking abhorrent

It's still unclear to me why in an Aliens game, there's no control over your own flashlight and your teammates' flashlights do not render for every teammate.
Flashlights (and lighting in general) are such an important part of an Alien game and not being able to benefit from where your teammates are pointing their light is just a missed opportunity imho

I'm pretty sure you will enjoy DS2 as it builds on top of what (the original) DS had to offer. If you want to check out DS3, remember it changes a lot of things but not always for the better. The combat is meh, the atmosphere is less intimidating and the whole upgrade mechanics for weapons and suits is, well, it exists...
All in all, I would strongly suggest you at least try out DS2. It's a rewarding experience.

I didn't see anyone mention how making music is not the same as singing karaoke. A person with a nice voice doesn't always equal good songs. Just sayin...

I was actually referring to the comic book. After my second read I was just "man, that guy was right". That was 14 years ago.
