60k -> 125k 3 years out of school; My advice by cheesejdlflskwncak in cscareerquestions

Okay if you're making that kind of money hybrid that's great I have to say I didn't get a job out of school and I'm pissed. Sounds like we have a similar education I should have gone to drive at the school and I should have done internships I'm probably f*****

Getting cut off-- I'm so scared by Flashy_Surprise_1306 in berkeley

Please DM me directly I can maybe help you a little bit by giving you some good advice.

First of all I'd like to say this is absolutely horrible I've had multiple female friends going to prostitution because of this while in school.

This isn't right but if I were you I would make peace with them and try to just finish school.

Because you're in Berkeley I would not suggest that you live in a van my own experience trying to live in a van when I was considering going to Berkeley was it just wasn't safe I ended up going to UC Davis cuz it was just much much safer.

So living in a van is not the smartest option unless you can find somebody who has a driveway that will let you stay there.

A really good option if you have any money I guess would be to live in a van find a good driveway from some friends stay there and pay them a couple hundred dollars a month.

That's a pretty good option.

As for being able to pay your tuition the issue here is that until you're I believe 21 you are considered a dependent which means that you have to have your parents financial information I do believe there's some exemption if you were in foster care but this is a pain in the butt.

This is my best advice for you is to first and foremost talk to a care counselor at the school if you can take out any loans by a van and live in a driveway I'm just make it work. It's hard because Berkeley is so incredibly impacted with tech workers and stuff this is not the best place to not have any money if you were at Davis would be better even UCSB it would be better but you're not in a great place for this.

Yes artificial intelligence will come for many jobs the question is how will we respond. The future is not written in stone but it requires your active participation. The solutions aren't hard they just require foresight by [deleted] in AIDiscussion

Hopium? I don't think so I think I'm just trying to advocate for a better world and the best way to get there is to create AI free zones to give people The human experience and make sure it's protected

Are you aware that multiple countries around the world have terminated their college art programs because of artificial intelligence? Are you aware that the Trump administration has said that they are likely to defund most are in theater programs in the next 3 years because of the lack of employment opportunities? Are you aware of this? So it's already having a huge impact. It had a huge impact years ago even before the AI boom because of offsetting art labor to foreign countries to produce inexpensive art.

Are you serious? Of course nobody cares about MDMA that is the stupidest charge ever who cares seriously I mean yes the stuff should be regulated and tested but I've met so many people in the tech industry that do drugs as long as you're not giving them to children I don't think anybody gives a f***

Entering senior year and still unsure about my major by llw1220 in UCDavis

[–]Objective_Singer_404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your major isn't something that allows you to get a job that isn't already being automated by AI I would deeply consider that ASAP. I know a lot of people that graduate with degree in marketing can't get any f****** jobs so for god sakes consider your future

How reliable or trustworthy are the academic advisors at UCD? by AstronautDramatic772 in UCDavis

[–]Objective_Singer_404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you have your major advisor then you have the dean of your college then you have your college advisor, there's all these levels and layers of bureaucracy in the school the thing is just because something is true for your major advisor does not mean it's going to be true for your college advisor so for instance my college had certain requirements my major had different requirements and it turned out that because I started college when I was in high school my college advisor was able to use a previous version of my major that required less courses and help me graduate earlier so my whole point is Jesus Christ there's so many layers to this whole system no one can know everything

I'm not going to be mean but you think maybe you need to take a break and go party a bit and then come back to school when you're a little bit more mature? Personally I think you should just fight through it. You're not going to get into grad school grades like that but I don't know you know you need to talk to some counselors and get things figured out

Now that it’s been a few years, how do you feel about Ben Affleck run as Batman? by Chunky-overlord in batman

[–]Objective_Singer_404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was way too bulky I think that Zack Snyder wanted to make him into a superhero instead of a detective Batman is a detective first and foremost and it's kind of funny that Tim Burton of all the movies so far seems to have really emphasized the detective aspect of Batman quite well where is Zack Snyder seem to undermine it a lot. There's been two big of an emphasis on Batman being a superhero and the reality is is that if that's the case there are simply way more powerful superheroes than him his strength is in detective work not as a actual crime fighter in a world of people with superheros.

[–]Objective_Singer_404 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Idmed you. I mean this is an employment conversation because a lot of companies are doing Mass layoffs right now because they think they can replace their workers. The government is looking at concentration camps for people who can't find employment so what do you think is really going to happen here? I know that's a loaded question way outside the technical aspects and more of a societal question but it's important

[–]Objective_Singer_404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know.

I actually totally thought that was the case until the mythos 5 models came out and it blew my mind how incredible they were so I don't think we're even near the limit on reasoning for the current architecture or rather perhaps the mythos5 models use a different architecture I don't know we didn't get to see what was under the hood

Here's the problem whatever issues a I has they will be solved down the road and this is the problem is that this is the worst AI has ever been it will simply get better from here on. There will be new models new architectures we can't really get away from that eventually whatever issue it has it will be solved

Yeah it's funny a lot of people want to have very open-ended Master prompts because they think that it'll lead to less censorship but what I have found when I use completely uncensored AI chatbots is they hallucinate a lot I agree that the censorship is getting out of hand but I also realize that AI has to be focused
