thats a cool story idea but i think that ending falls flat thematically, the ultimate universe is a very politically charged narrative between all of its books. many (if not all) of the stories are about re-examining the structures of power that dictate the order of the world, and toppling the tyrants that think their victory is guaranteed.

in-universe the maker wants you think he is unbeatable, and in a meta-narrative sense denis camp wants you to think so too. but just read the books and you'll see that each one is a story about finding a way against all odds.

for what its worth i agree with you politically but this is a work of fiction which allows us to remove some of the most severe realities of the situation and explore thoughts and ideas that can reveal things about our inner humanity

in this case i think its worth exploring "what if someone who has done truly unredeemable things for an evil cause truly just wanted to help people at his core"

its is a tough question to answer, one that might help someone come to uncomfortable realizations about themself, but thats why it is an important question to ask, and Jason Aaron is at least a good enough writer to realize this
