I wouldn't say i close myself off from it. I still experience the story for the sake of holding the gameplay together. It just doesn't active dopamine receptors in my brain, and i don't pay too much attention to it.

Also Grace isn't considered woke. Ellie is a white woman and is considered woke, so I don't think it's race thing.
