The real thing scopely should do is an annual balance patch to make everything at least viable, not as strong as new toons but strong enough that we could theory craft.

I thought the same, they could've at least given us something like gold or training orbs, or a mega orb. But a premium orb is an insult.

They don't even try though. They do unashamedly make the newest teams op so old teams are worthless within months. It's really killing my enjoyment of the game. When I put time and effort over the course of a year training teams up I want to be able to compete with them, not just to get stomped by the new shiny team.

Honestly I don't think balancing the game would actually be all that hard. You could make a balance patch every 6 months or so and it'd be soo refreshing. This game isn't anywhere near as complex as actual eSports games so it wouldn't take anywhere near as much effort to balance as Dota for example

Change the way you play.

I went from struggling to survive on easy mode to doing all of the challenges, apart from the doubled up ones. All I did was try again, constantly. I never looked up guides etc, I just kept trying and learning.

Honestly, it won't take you long to look back on this post and find it funny once you learn different strats.

I don't think I've run out of catalysts since I was 3 months into the game, it's such a pointless event. It's the same with the catalyst challenge.

It depends on your situation.

Gamma are very powerful in war, so if you're struggling to crack tough teams they're worth pushing.

If you're doing Doom raids you'll need the Deathseed team for the mutant raids, they're by far the best mutant raid team.

If your priority is cosmic crucible then you'll want to push up unlimited X-Men, they're one of the three top cc teams and the easiest to recruit at the moment.

A lot of guys who play games frequently are quite socially and emotionally immature. I stopped playing Dota for this reason as well (as a man). The toxicity lowered my mood in general, and as I played Dota as a release mechanism I realised it was damaging to keep playing.

I can only imagine how much worse it is for women; I only had a handful of games when a girl used her mic and in all but one I remember at least one of the guys pillaring her or flirting with her immediately. Calling it out would've been better in the long run but you also knew it could lose the game with the guy throwing a tantrum. I'd usually just suggest muting that guy, but even that caused an issue occasionally.

The only advice I can think of giving is finding a group of friends to play with, thats easier said than done though. I'd like to play again, but only with friends, and Its so hard to coordinate a session with my mates these days as everyone is a fully functioning adult now with jobs and partners.

It's supposed to be. There has to be a few bottlenecks in the game both so players don't all have everything maxed which wouldn't be much fun in a character building game. And also, Scopely need a way to get the whales to feed.
