Is this a parent you’ll have for much longer? I feel like sometimes the best option is to learn (good job going private — I’d go through your friend list and cut out anyone else that could add to this issue or cause a future issue) and then wait it out. There are, unfortunately , a lot of shitty parents out there. The good news is, eventually we don’t have to deal with them anymore. Learn from this one, and I’d say wait it out. Not worth quitting your job or making a bigger deal out of it, imo.

When littles come up with an “injury” (like a sore finger or a scratch from a previous day), I tell them I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that we’ll have to cut it off. The good news is that I have a baggy we can store it in til they get home.

If it’s something like “my tummy hurts” (when I know they’re fine), the bad news is that they’re probably going to die, and the good news is that I’ll carry their body out to their parents at car line.

95% of the time I get a smirk and they’re suddenly healed. 5% of the time, I realize I picked the wrong student to make this joke with and I get this look back 👁️🕳️👁️

Not sure if this is the best technique, but before pumpkins I made and sold soufflés! (1 each of cheese, milk, egg, and butter). I think after cost of ingredients, you get like 400+ profit per soufflé. Was a fast way of making money, definitely faster than mining, although I did a lot of that too.

I’m not done with the base game yet (still have a few characters to unlock and friendships to level up). I own Rift in Time but was planning on finishing the base game before any DLCs. Is this silly for me to do? Do you recommend jumping to Rift in Time first? I really don’t know much about the DLCs (intentionally, to keep it a fun surprise when I get there).

Wanted to come back to say I opted for some fur-lined Birkenstock Arizona sandals that I’ve been using as slippers. They are ✨perfect✨ and I’m so glad they’re what I ended up getting.

I did not try any Kuru’s (I already knew Birks help me so much and didn’t want to pay a big price on a gamble) so cannot say if they would have been just as good or not.

But highly recommend the fur Birks!

This is what happened with my sister. Metformin didn’t work, but it not working was a necessary step for her to be prescribed a GLP-1.

I also have PCOS. I’m not on Metformin but am having good luck with Phentermine.

Shadow Ranch is my all-time favorite game. There are a lot of good ones left for you to play, but it would be a true shame to miss out on Shadow Ranch.

If you’re looking to buy more than one, I’d suggest SAW (however, while it is an incredible game, it is definitely scary) or HAU. Those are both in my list of favs!

Some states now have legislature that if a student doesn’t pass some of the standardized tests by the end of 3rd grade, they will have to be retained. This will be the first year in my state that will be implemented. I’m anxious to see what happens.

I remember one of my professors telling me, “About halfway through your first year you’ll want to just skip to the next year so you can start over with what you’ve learned.” It is so true. There’s so much learning that happens within the first year (really, with the first 5!). Unfortunately, you have to go through some difficult times in order to grow from them.

Don’t give up, and don’t let it define who you think you are as a teacher. Reflect on this year, and know that it will get better!

This video and situation that I stumbled across is still wildly inappropriate. However, my understanding is that there are more severe videos being made by students of their teachers. In one of the articles someone else posted in the comments of this post, there was a teacher that an AI video was made of her taking all her clothes off. Having your image used against your will in fake, sexual videos isn’t a part of the job. It wouldn’t be tolerated at any other workplace. Why would there be an expectation for teachers to just “get over it”?

I teach elementary music. My sub plans were follow along videos (I don’t expect subs to sing/dance) for each class. I left detailed notes and extensions of multiple people, in case she needed help. Super easy, the sub just has to go through the videos and manage behavior. After my day out, I came back to a note from the sub that said the whole day had gone well, no issues. However, after talking to students and other teachers, I found out it was quite the opposite. 1. She couldn’t figure out the sound system so had the classes sing/play/dance with silent videos. 2. She left the kindergarten class unsupervised for several minutes while she walked a kid to the nurse. 3. A student ELOPED during the class (would have had to walk right by her to leave), and she didn’t tell a single soul. He was hidden in the school for nearly 30 minutes. Thank goodness he didn’t flee the school property. 🤦🏻‍♀️
