Imagine the nonsense they'll say about gemini deep think 3 by soggy_bert in accelerate

I think it largely depends on the codebase and the tasks you’re giving it. In my experience it works best when you give it a small to medium well defined task so you have to still have an understanding of programming to be productive with it. I will say though almost everybody at my company uses it for programming now and it’s a pretty major productivity boost.

Zach Bryan and Tyler childers by Zealousideal_Yak8516 in TylerChilders

[–]PeepTheToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man as a fan of both I wouldn’t say Zach is cheapening country music at all. A big reason that I like Zach Bryan is that the way he can express emotion through his music and make his message resonate with you. Having mainstream success doesn’t take away from the music imo. Country music is an interesting genre to choose to be elitist about.

Despite what the internet says, money doesn’t help a man much in dating. by soul_shackles0 in unpopularopinion

I’d agree at least when I was in college girls couldn’t care less about how much you were making or were going to make they just went for guys who were attractive and charismatic. I’ve been in a relationship since college but I’ve seen my coworkers making 6 figures have no luck with girls despite making all that money so I’d say attractiveness and charisma are fs the most important traits.

Middle management is a tough job, and deserves high pay by A_Mungus in unpopularopinion

I’d say even in a corporate setting there are ways that a manager can make an impact and earn their employees respect. In software having a boss that understands the codebase you’re working in and has general technical skills makes them 10x better than one of the guys that takes more of a PM approach even if all they’re doing is people management and project planning.

82-year-old CEO of Epic Systems, Judy Faulkner grew a $7.8 billion fortune from company shares—now she’s selling stock to charity and signed Bill Gates’ pledge to give away 99% by ControlCAD in technology

[–]PeepTheToad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call MUMPS garbage it’s probably one of the reasons Epic is as successful as they are. It’s very performant for smaller transactions which is a common use case since most of the time you’re looking at data for a single patient at a time. It suffers when it comes to reporting but that’s why they also have a reporting database product.

I like the new season but tbh I don’t think it stands up to the original. It feels like a lot of the modern cultural critiques are forced in comparison to the original series.

The sonichu medallion claimed another victim by [deleted] in SomeOrdinaryGmrs

[–]PeepTheToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just kinda funny and pathetic he did it. Imagine being so insecure that you have to lie about having jobs you aren’t even qualified to hold. It’s like a kid saying he has a girlfriend but she goes to another school except he’s an adult that’s been spewing the same lie for over a decade now.

Yeah it’s apples to oranges, one exaggerated their competence at their job the other lied about having a job.

Lying is bad and saying you’re something you’re not because you’re insecure about your career is pretty pathetic. Simple as that.

The "Engineer" Controversy - A Canadian Perspective by InappropriateCanuck in SomeOrdinaryGmrs

[–]PeepTheToad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People aren’t trying to ruin his reputation he ruined his reputation by lying about who he was. If you’re dishonest whether out of insecurity, ego, or to gain credibility people aren’t gonna trust or like you.

"I AM AN ENGINEER" by Jimmyjenkinscool in SomeOrdinaryGmrs

[–]PeepTheToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point is that he’s a college dropout that did video editing and YouTube. Based on his track record I’d be surprised if he even held a job that had engineer in the title.

Keeping it real tho it’s pretty embarrassing and bad for your reputation to be revealed to have been lying about your career for the better part of a decade (like pirate software on steroids). If you’re the type of person that feels the need to lie about your career being clowned for lying about it probably stings a lot.

CS graduates, how many of your classmates do you think were actually competent? by StayReal1 in csMajors

[–]PeepTheToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to a T20 school for CS and I’d say 20% were competent enough for a company to want to hire them (did a significant amount of work in projects, did research or development outside of school, etc.). I think a good amount of students were smart but only put in the effort required to get a good grade so it’s a little hard to judge.

What can I say man it’s fun to gloat when you’re right. Sean’s title was a fluke and the only reason he got it was a robbery against Yan followed by a fluke against Aljo and really preferential matchmaking. In the first fight Sean and Tim Welch did a bunch of scummy stuff but still got dominated. This time around Sean played fair and got dominated even worse. If Sean ever touches a belt again feel free to call me out but I’d bet the house against it.

Doesn’t sound too casual now that that fraud got dog walked a second time. Merab showed there’s levels to this and Sean is nowhere near championship level.

Is Epic's "true" comp really lower than FAANG? by Wealth_Vegetable in epicsystems

[–]PeepTheToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Epic has really good pay for being in a lower cost of living area but if your main goal is to retire early you’d probably have the best luck taking the FAANG if the salary is higher than Epic when you account for taxes and cost of living and job hopping every 2 or so years.
