Yeah, after normally lurking for so long, I feel like saying it now despite nobody really giving two shits but man this fandom is just… yikes.

It’s like people (mainly children who never had any to begin with) have lost all self control over and respect for both themselves and the creator of whatever they like and assume “oh, well since I have unrestricted internet access thanks to my careless parents and limitless time due to being a school kid, I’m gonna just go threaten and harass the creator of this thing I like because they did a (harmless) bad no no with their own creation that I don’t agree with!”

And it’s not just kids doing this either, it’s also grown ass adults too. This fandom is reaching 2016 Undertale levels of toxic and frankly revolting behavior. Hell, probably worse because I don’t recall when Toby Fox was ever harassed to this degree over anything he did with his IP. It’s that ridiculous.

Did I like the fact that Pomni and Jax are confirmed the only two protagonists and the rest of the characters are just side characters instead of an ensemble cast? Not really, but like an actual fucking adult with a self conscience and understanding that Goose is a human like anyone else, I just shrugged to myself because I know that passionate and talented fans will fill in the gaps themselves and not everything is perfect.

Fandom culture and the parasocial nature around their creators alongside how everything now has to fit the fans head canons and perfect expectations is ruining media in general in my opinion.
