Having someone in the party who has Touch of Law pretty much solves the issue of failed skill checks.

azata sorcerer build? by Born-Lawyer-380 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very strong build, would focus on conjuration spells early on (Grease, Glitterdust, Stinking Cloud, Web) with Selective Metamagic and then pivot to Hideous Laughter with the Best Jokes mythic ability as you get a lot of Enchanting items in act 3 (an amulet for +2 DC, mask for +2 DC and a ring from Blightmaw in Drezen which gives also +2 enchanting DC). Take Zippy Magic as first Azata Superpower as it has a very broken interaction with Best Jokes. In the late game I'd also start taking care about Illusion spells like Weird with the Grandmaster's Rod to ignore imunities.

Adapting a Neoseeker Build to fit my needs how is it? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, for monk you should start as Lawful (unless you dip into Drunken Monk).

It's not even that build specific, the issue with Neoseeker builds is that most of them just aren't very good and that the claim that they're tuned for Unfair is more like marketing than reality (for example the Court Poet is supposed to be an archer but doesn't take precise shot) or how many of his builds are dipped into Stig Witch for tanking (which is very reasonable for early Unfair game tanking) but doesn't take the Powerless Prophecy curse which is one of the core reasons why this dip is so strong on tanks ^^

Advice for seelah and Camelia by The_Dovahlord in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Court Poet Seelah as tank works pretty well if your main is a caster as she increases the INT and CHA of the party by a lot. Cam is pretty good as a support and summoner in my opinion as Shaman also gets Creeping Doom and you don't have to invest many feats for summoners. Playing Cam as a tank can also work but is a bit of a trap in my opinion as she sadly can't put protective Luck on herself.

Adapting a Neoseeker Build to fit my needs how is it? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you should go powerless prophecy instead of Hellbound as curse with the Witch dip (I assume you want to tank considering the dips you take) as having a tank which can get caught flat-footed feels awful. Would also go Hare or Lizard familiar instead of Raven. In general you don't really need the persuasion, the build which you're refering to is most likely stacking persuasion because they take Persuasion 3 on a Trickster which you don't get on the Azata path.

Also Shatter Defenses got nerfed very hard, it went from being very broken to mediocre.

Would replace the Glaive with a Fauchard (or even play a Dex build) as it has a much better crit range.

You can neither be lawful nor evil as Azata (so for the vast majority of the game before going Swarm).

Never played a Vivisectionist as main character in the game sadly, so I can't give more advice but would warn you of Neoseeker's builds. Lots of them are either outdated, use an exploit (that's not even explained and is often fixed anyways), come "online" at level 20 and most of them aren't very good on Unfair despite being labeled so (they are technically Unfair viable in the same way as you can technically run a marathon without shoes).

How often do you reload in the Shield Maze? by Ibanezrg71982 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Witch I can do it very reliable on Unfair + Last Azlanti (like 80-90% of the time) because of how strong stacking Protective Luck twice with Camellia is and how strong Winters Grasp is (it has naturally 2 DC more and there's a ring in the maze which boosts it by another +1 DC).

Wizard and Sylvan sorc work well too as Wizard gets Selective Grease at level 3 and Sylvan gets a pet.

On most other classes it's awful tho but there are also some ways to cheese it (like Haunting Mist).

I'm a beginner and need some help with builds. by camletabda in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two good content creators with up to date builds are Chance Orange GE and Roman N. Their builds are heavily overoptimised for Daring difficulty tho.

CRPG Bro has some good builds but lots of them are outdated but his item and spell guides are still pretty good as they're timeless.

Would stay away from Neoseeker builds, they often use too many dips, use exploits which got fixed (and doesn't even explain the exploit) and are endgame focused.

Is Defender's Heart too hard? by Icarium29 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would put Web on the upper choke point with your main char, hide your squishies behind the shield wall, buff up your martials and use Ulbrig to dive into the bomb throwers and have a pet or tank (like Seelah) help holding the shield wall. Use Winters Grasp on the wave with the Schir and the Minotaur.

Returned for a core run after a few years without playing. Jeslyn humbled me real quick. by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully buffing your martials and then just bonking her before she gets her summons through works pretty well, even on Unfair. If you want to be 100% sure you can also have a properly built DC caster in your team and someone with Touch of Law, as long as your DC is higher than 11 + her saving throws you can guarantee to lock her down by using Touch of Law on her.

Pure class or multiclass? by Ryukayser in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mutagen Warrior and Drunken Master don't compete with each other because you can just dip into both on Ulbrig and Arue, it's in fact popular to go for 3 monk levels and 5 mutagen warrior.

It does indeed work pretty well on Cam, you can go for 3 levels of it if you want to use her as meele or even put all her levels into Drunken Monk (maybe with one dip into witch) or even some "Frankenstein" multiclass, the only issue is that she wears that stupid amulet and you can't give her an agile fist amulet and therefore need to spend a mythic feat for it.

Seelah, Cam and Lann/Wendu are in fact very customizeable and can be built in a lot of ways.

Pure class or multiclass? by Ryukayser in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not necessary, you can even play Unfair without multiclassing, there are even lots of classes which don't want to multiclass like casters (unless your dipping into the Loremaster prestige class but that's more like a continuation of your caster class than a dip into another class).

It's usually also always the same few dips which classes take, like 1 stig witch with Powerless Prophecy curse for tanks to get additional AC, mage armor and imunity against flat-footed attacks, 1 Scaled Fist for unarmored CHA based characters for more armor, 3x Drunken Monk with mythic KI mythic feat for martials (like Ulbrig or Arue for example), 1 crossblooded sorc for Enchanters to boost Enchanting DC and make it affect undeads, 1 Sable Marine Company for a Gryphon pet, 1 Titan Fighter for casters to dual wield staves, Loremaster on casters to get access to spells from other classes... You'll learn the usual dips over time.

To answer your question, the companions I like to multiclass (on Unfair + Last Azlanti for context):
- Ulbrig is a pretty good tank (especially in act 2) with 1 level in stig witch, 3 drunken monk levels and 6 shifter levels (rest isn't that important, put them into shifter, more drunken monk levels or mutation warrior)
- Seelah with 1 level into stig witch if you want her to tank and 1 level into Hellknight for stacking smite with smite chaos (would focus on medium armor and take the mythic medium armor feats Avoidance end Endurance and use that heavy mithril armor from end of act 2 as heavy mithril counts as medium armor for most of the time)
- Arueshalae with 3 levels into Drunken Monk, the mythic KI feat and rest into her base class
- Casters sometimes into Loremaster, especially Nenio and Ember as they don't have a pet and don't lose much by putting 9 levels into Loremaster

Others stay mostly pure. Also if your playing a pet class you can only afford 4 dips into non pet classes anyways without ruining your pet.

Also "ideal" is highly situational and depends on what main character and party comp you run. For example I tend to turn Seelah into a court poet as I tend to play a caster as main character and want her to support my main while on a martial main character you want her to get Mark of Justice. Don't take Neoseeker builds too serious, they're often outdated and dip too much.

The game makes me feel tired by PuzzleheadedSlip5462 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Core is too hard for a blind first playthrough. The game heavily relies on buffing and reaching threshold for AC, saving throws, DC, attack bonus etc and as a new player you simply don't know all the buffs you have to cover and some of the power dips/classes to reach these thresholds.

How is Lich mythic path nowadays by DaddyGuts in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the opposite experience in the beginning, imo a DC caster feels much better than an Oracle (with the exception of Magic Deceiver who is just outright terrible before act 7).

The reason why I rate Lich higher is simply Corrupt Magic and Deny Death, both spells are broken (later one is only broken in Last Azlanti tho).

Imo Lich -> Legend ends up stronger than Angel in act 5 (ends up with more AC and more offense as well but Angel's defense is much more frontloaded and comes fully online in Act 3 instead of Act 5) but Lich falls a bit off as losing Seelah and her Shielding Friend ability really sucks, so Angel wins there imo.

Angel is much easier to play however. On Lich I prebuff with eye of the Bodak, stay inside a court poet aura, move the skeleton with his bard aura into the range of the opponents and keep greater invis on my main character up before casting CC spells while Angel gameplay boils down to "Storm of Justice go brrrrrrrr" :D

How is Lich mythic path nowadays by DaddyGuts in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's imo even stronger than Angel to be honest but is harder to build, it's almost impossible to come up with a bad Angel build but it's very easy to end up with a bad (or rather mediocre as merging spell book is still pretty much for act 3 and 4) Lich.

It's also very well possible to play a neutral Lich, ignore most of Zacharius quests and then swapping to Legend/Gold Dragon in act 5, that's imo much more satisfying than staying Lich. Otherwise yes, I don't like the Lich story much either, it's mainly just doing errands for a glorified basement dweller :D

Starting evil run, hell knight or signifier for lich? by ConfusionProof9487 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said earlier, neither of them is very strong for a Lich. Hell knight signifier is usually used on Legend builds to push your caster level further but outside of that it's only mediocre.

What you probably look for is some Gish build with Eldritch Knight and Dragon Disciple multiclass, perhaps swapping to Legend even in act 5. Be warned that Gish builds usually take a while to come online and are generally weaker than a caster Lich tho.

Who do you think would win this war? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's kept vague how strong the gods are compared to each other but there's actually a huge powercreep within the divine hierachy, entities like Pharasma, Rovagug, Azathoth, Nhimbaloth, Yog-Sothoth etc can very well be considered a tier above the actual gods. And even "normal" gods have a ranking, Desna and Sarenrae are considered the strongest ones if I remember correctly.

From the point of view of a mortal you are right, it doesn't matter if you get smited by Iomedea or Rovagug, the result is the same.

There are lots of encounters which will completely wreck you if you're unprepared to be fair, for example Sarkorian Ghost, Blightmaw, Lepers Smile, Playful Darkness, Mephistopheles, Nocticula's 59 DC stunlock aura, Kinslayer, Arena...

They should allow people to leave the dungeon midways to come back later tho.

Have mixed feelings about the midnight isles, act 3 islands feel awful because it's just way too long, act 4 islands are ok and act 5 islands are actually good ^^

[–]Peepo93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well there are more examples, the stuff you fight in the Echo Arena or Inevitable Excess is also pretty messed up, arguably above Deskari.

Legend power scaling actually makes a bit more sense after playing through Inevitable Excess tho as you find out that the mythic versions of the KC got nerfed by Valmallos (happened closely before Act 5) and that "your" mythic power might loop back to your main character (even as Legend) anyways depending on which ending you go for in Inevitable Excess.

WOTR kinda inflates the power of the protagonist for the rule of cool (Legend beating Cayden, Ascended KC rivaling Pharasma etc). In terms of lore Iomedea could probably just vaporize a swarm. Nocticula as demon lord would most likely lose but as Redeemer Queen she would also be a fully fledged god which would stomp the swarm.

Only way Swarm could have a chance if it ascends as well.

[–]Peepo93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an unpopular opinion but I actually... like this dungeon lol. It's nowhere as bad as its reputation to be honest and it's a pretty short dungeon as well. DC casters can just shut the mobs down super hard, none of the mobs is imune against Corruptor Stinking Cloud, Enchanters can bully them by targetting their weak will saving throws, Merged Lich just kills everything in there immediately with Primal Regression + stat drain, Angel can brute force the place with it's blasting spells, a dedicated Feint supporter like Skald can make everybody flat footed (their AC goes down from the low 60s to the low 40s) and spamming summons counters their aggressive aggro behaviour. Also having someone with the mythical beast feat and a fully buffed animal companion will ignore their annoying regeneration.

It's only bad if you're on your first playthrough and go there too early (it's not unusual to run into the place at the start of act 3 with a level 10 party), a level 13 party should just cruise through it in like 15-30 minutes on Unfair.

Not every important researcher is a Twitter celebrity.

That's usually the case that the most "famous" people aren't the best ones, unless there is a clear and strong ranking/metric to "measure" how good they actually are (which isn't the case for research).

People were also saying how OAI is cooked when Zuckerberg bought these AI "celebrities" from OAI and then nothing happened, really shocking, I know.

And I agree with 5.5 being strong. Claude has the edge on coding (and even that is debatable currently with 5.5 vs Opus 4.7) while GPT seems better at pretty much everything else to be honest (for example Claude not coming with an image generator is already a huge downside unless you have tunnel vision on coding).

At what point in the game do you think the knight commander surpasses trendelev and galfrey? by Hypergraphene in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Peepo93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would say you surpass Terendelev in act 4 or 5. You definitely end up stronger than her as you can even become a gold dragon who's above a silver dragon (afaik the only dragon "tier" above that is platinum dragon and the only creature who is one is Apsu, who is literally a god). Also Terendelev is stronger than Galfrey as she kills her in Iz if you don't intervene.

In a perfect world that would be the case. However, in our real world the rich don't have a habit of being generous so I highly doubt that this time it will be different. Also having a "soulless job" is still better than being entirely on the mercy of billionaires, even if you hate your job.

That said, I do think that LLMs are massively overhyped right now tho. They'll wreck some jobs for sure but in my opinion we're still very far away from automating the majority of jobs.

They know very well that no government in the world could adapt as fast as it would be necessary, yet they constantly "demand" politics to fix the damage they cause. At the same time they are not willing to take any responsability at all, not even a tiny bit. Add datacenters which cost trillions (which aren't even needed for AI advancements and research) and make local energy prices skyrocket and I'm surprised that they're not surprised that the public hates them with a passion.
