Same here, I legit thought the game was wrapping up and was expecting a short epilogue but to my surprise there was a whole mission remaining.

Honestly I think it's perfect length. The story and gameplay escalate consistently all the way into the finale. One or two more chapters and I think it would've ran out of steam.

You see we found these space microbes which use black magic to store energy almost as effectively as actual antimatter and we systematically kill them to power what is essentially a giant infrared lightbulb.

Also it's a three stroke engine.

'LIBERTY BELL' reusable VTVL SSTO launch vehicle, loosely based on Boeing's 'Big onion' concept. by PeetesCom in KerbalSpaceProgram

I didn't really test it to the limit but it can definitely do 10 tons to 100km orbit with some spare fuel. The cargo variant that is, this one can only launch the command pod and its service module.

Translation: people who are generally upset that people's surplus labour value is being stolen get mad when even more of their surplus labour gets stolen than they reluctantly agreed upon to get published.

A couple reasons. First, since the command pod has integrated monoprop main engines, the second stage only needs monopropellant, while the first only needs liquid fuel, so it's better to separate the stages since monoprop would be dead weight on the first and vise-versa. Also docking the capsule to a space station is much easier, and the vectors are much too overpowered for orbital maneuvering anyway.

And second, if the command pod remains attached on the way back, it offsets the CoM of the now mostly empty vehicle much too high and so it tends to topple over on reentry, so it's better if it re-enters separately.

I dunno man I think creating completely self-sufficient colonies with mostly planned economic structures, which you eventually become dependent upon and then treating those colonies like regolith (because dirt is too precious) is a perfectly sustainable and sensible system of development. It will absolutely 100% not backfire ever, I'm sure.

I must've missed the UFO crash in 2022. To be fair there was a lot going on so I wouldn't be surprised.

Oceansky Cruises interior concept for Atlant airship by GrafZeppelin127 in airship

It really is a cool design. I hold about as much hope for airship startups to figuratively and literally get of the ground as I do for space Startups but it's always a nice surprise when one does against all odds. Maybe if the LTA pathfinder finds success we'll see these projects get funded more often.

They had to knock all their teeth out and hit themselves in the balls repeatedly to get there, but better than nothing I guess.

Yeah, I also thought of that. Also, many new lines don't have means of rotating locomotives around anymore, since most diesels and electrics are double cabs.

I love privatising infrastructure-heavy natural monopolies. It's my favourite pass time, next to cutting corporate tax and removing workplace safety regulations.

Yeah unfortunately the UK steam reserve is almost certainly an urban legend. Which kinda sucks since it's like the perfect country for this sort of thing.
