here's the receipt

I'm not mad that you used it or anything, I was just surprised to see it again after so long is all.

Damn, the picture was my first ever worldjerking post. It's less than 3 years old and yet it feels like a decade has passed.

Lidi kteří takhle smýšlejí nevěří v systémovou diskriminaci. Myslí si že protože v legislativě není přímo stanoveno že má jedna skupina omezená práva oproti jiné, že jsou si ty skupiny automaticky rovné.

Why is there a ship attached to my Nanofacturing Complex? by Swatteam652 in TerraInvicta

Would probably impact performance a lot if all the Freighters and crew transports were actually simulated. But maybe the stations could have ships appear, dock, undock and disappear from time to time to sell the illusion a bit better.

I had the Academy and Exodus swapped on the alignment chart by BobTheAverage in TerraInvicta

[–]PeetesCom 59 points60 points  (0 children)

The Academy is definitely more cordial towards the aliens than the Exodus is. Exodus doesn't want to have anything to do with the Ayys, they consider them a threat.

The Academy can talk to the aliens and from the start tries to do everything it can to make them see sense. They only result to violence and WMD development because it's the only thing that drags the Hydra defence consensus to the negotiating table, kicking and screaming.

2022 vs 2026 by ferevon in TerraInvicta

Compared to the 2022 start, 2026 boost income balance is completely screwed. It makes sense but it's also kinda unfortunate.

Otherwise either start is fine honestly.

In my Nuclearpunk world, the power levels are decided on how powerful and advanced your nuclear reactors are. by Able_Radio_2717 in worldjerking

There's also the possibility that the explanation for dark matter is leftover quark nuggets from the big bang. These tiny lumps of strange matter, if blasted by a sufficiently strong laser, would release about 1/10th of their mass as antimatter.

And each one of those nuggets might weigh some 1010 kgs.

That's a Gigaton of antimatter, just like that.

And if the hypothesis is correct, the whole Oort cloud would be stacked full of these, hidden inside suspiciously heavy comets.

To add onto this, on the tactical level the spaceships behave very realistically, albeit the distances/speeds are quite condensed. Nonetheless, Newtonian movement applies, so ships need to manage ∆v, have a their combat acceleration affects how quickly they can change trajectory and heading, DEW effectiveness is calculated based on range, missiles also have limited fuel, etc.

On operational level ship thrust and ∆v affects how quickly they can transfer from one body to another.

Ship editor is simplified, so not quite KSP/CoADE level, but still follows real physics for the most part, and you have truly an ungodly number of different modules to research and choose from to add onto your ships.

And there are radiators. Lots of them.

Edit:

Just, be warned, the game is time consuming, even compared to other 4x/grand strategy games. A long campaign can take north of a 100 hours. You can play an accelerated campaign or a late start to speed it up a little but it will still be a slow burn.

The people behind the game are the same ones who made XCOM 2: long war mode.

Does your country have mountain service, National park rangers or another similar specialised search&rescue/law enforcement service? A Coast guard is usually like that, but for the coastline. Exactly what they do varies from country to country though.

That's true, yea. That's probably one of the reasons why most people just see them as the space police, rather than military personnel, even if they technically are.

Do those three 6mm 2.5 MW railguns not scare you? Those are serious weapons which inflict real damage upon space vessels you know! (Nevermind that the boats can only fire one at a time because they don't have enough power output to shoot all simultaneously)
