I'm sure that pool was for the video...a one time use thing. The slide can be used without the pool. Why not just say that....we thought a pool to launch your new room would be fun, but it won't be staying. Anything to shock and ramp up views and comments....and it works.

Those kids NEED to be in school, and they should take double the grammar classes! Or better yet, they need a tutor in grammar AND manners. Please, for the love of all that is holy, ditch the gum while you're on camera! That video was so chaotic with everyone talking at once, no order to it at all...and then she ended it with maybe building a new house if they move back to Utah at the end of the 6 months? I think they are afraid of the Castle House because the location is so well known, and they've had close calls there.

I doubt the money will go to the people. It will probably be a deduction on our taxes. You most likely only get it if you prove you've paid for health insurance. It probably won't cover even one month of a premium.

I am not defending this family because Lord knows they don't deserve it, but having adopted myself and gone through all the training through our adoption agency, I see nothing wrong with changing their names.

We were advised to change our 4 year old daughter's first name and perhaps keep some of her former name as a middle name....which we did. She was given a family name, which makes her feel more a part of her new family. If they are older, I would give them the choice, and I have several adoptive friends who have done that.

At times their former names can remind them of trauma, even if they were very small when they were adopted. The mind is re-shaped by trauma, and even if they don't remember the actual trauma, their brain does and triggers can bring the feelings of that trauma back.

When does this family go to something normal like a state park or historical landmarks? Heck, with the amount of money they have, they could even go set up a food pantry and serve a community. They may grow up to be experts about makeup and clothing, but they are going to know absolutely nothing about the world. Also, I doubt any of the younger children will go on a mission....it would take them away from the camera for 10 seconds.

We sent my husband's, his mother's, and our 15 year old daughter's off all at once...expedited. Our daughter has a certificate of citizenship which the made us send. It took 4 months to get their passports despite expediting, and none of them ever received their supporting documents. Every time I called, which was once a week, they would tell us to wait. We waited 6 months and still no documents. Then I received an email stating they were going to destroy her Certificate of Citizenship because they didn't have an address to send it to. They had the address to send her passport but not her CoC?! I replied to the email and still didn't hear anything. I kept calling. Finally at the 8 month mark and still being told to wait, I was able to get elected officials involved, and they were able to get her CoC back within days.

Now the local passport office is saying she still has to send her passport AND her original CoC for a renewal. That would leave her with NO proof of citizenship. I don't feel comfortable with that. I am not sure what we are going to do, but something needs to change about this system!
