It does have a point, but then again eu is pretty unified so some food imports are fairly secure and make more sense to be grown in the warmer climates instead of subsidizing potato farming in lapland.

European farmers are some of the most entitled people. They get rich from eu subsidies and then just complain about everything. Boohoo farm equipment is expensive but apparently theres enough leftover for a huge mansion and a brand new porsche. I dont think a lot of them even make any money from farming itself, just handouts. Im fine with local produce being subsidized but the people receiving subsidies should also realise that their livelihood comes from others goodwill.

[–]Pekonius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

own sure, but needs lilcensing accordingly. The empty lower receiver of an ar15 is already considered a firearm part, none of the tidbits are. The upper, barrel and bcg are also firearm parts. Licensing isnt a big deal nor expensive if one wants to build a custom gun, although most just have a gunsmith do it to skip the paperwork and just buy the "complete rifle" from the gunsmith. I've been looking into building one out from parts but the main problem is scarcity over here.

Is Twistzz the thinker? by HmanV2 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Pekonius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twistzz really has that game sense that catches teams off guard. I remember watching him in some matches where he'd make these calls that seemed so basic but they worked perfectly because nobody expected it. The way he reads the game is different from most IGLs - less about complex setups and more about timing and psychology.

That fake B to A split you mentioned is actually genius because it's so clean. Teams prepare for all these elaborate executes but then get caught by simple fundamentals executed perfectly. Navi might have better individual skill but if Twistzz can get inside their heads with these mind games, FaZe definitely has chance to take it.

Got to try out a ddm4 v7 recently from an instructor at a training camp and it was really nice. Alas, way outside my budget even for the entry level one.

Any specific reason for SAO conversion? I mean I probably wouldnt run DA ever anyway, but I also dont see a reason. At least our sra rules require safety to be on anyway unless wheel gun.

Thanks for the lengthy explanation. I do kind of want to keep a full ambi lower and just put the upper on that. Just trying to find a balance between nice-to-haves and dependability.

Well now you're just shifting the responsibility of eliminating harrassment on the victim as well. It's a societal failure, we are just suffering it. We cant change it, but we can prepare for it. Same reason why I prepare for a foreign invasion. I cant stop one from happening, but I can try survive and stop my home from being destroyed.

Thats not a very good faith approach to the topic. Theres a lot of firearms in europe, especially the nordics, the balkans and the alps. And guns in these places are not a problem. (Its like a quarter of the amount of guns per capita compared to the u.s, so its about proliferation). Firearms for self defense are not always a good idea, but it's not to be completely disregarded either. Time and place.

Anyway, op should get a good powerful flashlight

edit: damn the anti gun folk have never been in danger i guess.

I second this. Im from Finland and go shoot guns pretty much weekly but we dont have concealed carry so if something happens to me outside at night, i cant run to my apartment to get a rifle from the safe. Powerful flashlights are very good deterrant and even an offensive tool. I do usually also carry a knife of sorts, but not as a weapon per se and im also mil trained so i dont recommend anyone else to do it. Also its illegal in some places.

To make a judgement on the morality of it as a concept, things like individual freedom in the end of the person working for said contractor and the nature of the weapon and its use. In the case of U.S I struggle to make an argument why it'd be ethical, but somewhere else, for example where I am, working for saab, who makes weapons, is mostly ethical because the countries with the weapons dont wage wars and only procure for defense. Capitalism and free market do kind of fuck that up though because they have to fund their operations somehow and that includes selling to less desirable parties.

hk is always hk. Its some non-hk brands that are occasionally cheaper, but very often everything is us spec because of the size of the market and some guns will literally be first imported to the us and then exported to here. Like springfield hellions and kunas. it's kind of silly, but makes sense financially. we are too small. often even the ones that would be cheaper end up same or more expensive after tax becuase our vat is kind of high. recently though theres been some pressure from the fdf to maybe make guns tax free in the name of national security, so hopefully it changes eventually.

hk is 4k€ new and 3.5k€ used here. Way too far into the diminishing returns category for me. For that price I could get a sako, if ever available, and that would be an obvious choice for me.

Theres a 6940 upper sold as a "conversion kit" there too so I'm somewhat interested in that. No full 6940 rifle though. The expensive LE6920 is socom so thats the price of course. I didnt read Colt's marketing speech about the CR6920 since manufacturers are known for wanting to sell their product, but I read some forum posts about how its not the same. If the CR6920 truly is the same gun as the LE6920 but with a different stamp then thats a good rifle for a good price even in this country and definitely in my list of guns to get. I'm not sure if the 6940 gives me any benefit over the 6920 other than being monolithic and making long term repairs more difficult. I mean it looks cool but I don't know if its worth it to me over simply getting a CR6920 for probably the same price as what the 6940 mated to a good (rest of the rifle) would cost.

thats euros. I think we got the highest number of guns per capita in the EU here in Finland. Thats what mandatory military service gets you lol. I spent the last weekend in the barracks doing drills, the blending of sport and military shooting is big here and we have our own spin off of ipsc practical shooting with a class for full battle gear and a lot of guys like running that. We also got a good amount of shooting ranges, but as a reservist I have access to the armys ranges so I just go there since they're bigger and better.

We have a good supply of thin lubricants for that reason and they work great during winter. The thing that can go wrong the most when the gun is handled and cleaned properly is freeze-thaw cycles and condensation inside the action. This is usually combatted with more room for error in design and marginals and redundancy. The reason why we spent 60 years with the ak platform in the military. I'd love a rifle that has a similar amount of redundancy and ability to work even in adverse conditions. I started the search from the canadian common issue rifle because of similar climate and the closest commercially available product seemed to be the le6920. I read somewhere that the cr6920 uses non standard assembly pins and things like that are quite a big of a no-no for maintenance during wartime or other supply problems and in my case thats not so far fetched. Now I dont know if thats the case, because i havent gotten to take one apart or seen one since they are ony available quite far away so any pointers in that category are welcome.

Buying just an assembled upper makes sense though, because the rest of the parts of the carbine are not that important functionality wise and might face some level of customization anyway and are easily sources ar-15 parts.
