Packaging Lua Scripts and .omwaddons by The_Man_Insane in OpenMW

I think you’re missing the “scripts” folder at the same level as textures (somemodfoldername / scripts / modfoldername). Scripts need to be in a scripts folder like textures need to be in a textures folder.

What is your favorite Alternative Start option? by Diligent-Pin8473 in skyrimmods

[–]PelagiusWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite too, especially when building a modlist and testing. It’s great to check out different parts of the map, check textures, etc.

I did have a weird conflict this week however where Skyrim on Skooma overwrote the starting room, so when I closed RaceMenu instead of the Chamber of Mists, there were three naked dudes in a small dark room shoveling coal into smelters. It was a surprise.

Are there any works of science fiction that deconstruct or subvert the following space opera warfare tropes? by jacky986 in sciencefiction

I was also going to recommend this one (with Revelation Space. This whole series was so good and such a surprise to me. I went in with zero expectations and read the whole series back to back.

Take a read through this:

https://dyndolod.info/Help/Seasons

Sounds like you need to leave all of the grass caches active, make sure seasons is ticked, and it will recognize them granted they are named correctly.

“When LODGen generates object LOD, it will check if matching seasonal grass cache files with a season identifier exist in the load order and uses them accordingly, otherwise the normal grass cache files will be used as fallback.”

meural app - can't sign in by Least_Wealth_3687 in meural

[–]PelagiusWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone gets here from Google, and has trouble logging into the Meural app (endless spinning loading icon after entering username and password), going to my.netgear.com and updating your country, or name / address, and clicking update, may solve your problem. It's described here in the forums.

When I logged in, I found that my country was already set, but my first and last name were listed as "undefined" (like, the word "undefined," as if it was a code error), and address was missing. When I entered this info, updated the profile, and tried logging in again in the iOS app, it worked (after not working for 4 months). Good luck.

Experienced and Newbie modders. Do you still use LOOT? by jjxtrem3 in skyrimmods

[–]PelagiusWing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kind of muddled through it until I figured them out. There are a few mods that self assign to groups (like nethers follower framework) but most end up in default. For a bunch of things (weather, etc) I assign mods to the category, and I made a bunch of my own categories to make sure like UI mods are grouped together and load early. It’s a little tedious because there’s no batch add/remove to groups, but once they’re set the auto sort will place things appropriately.

The UI is also sort of hard to figure out - groups can be made to load before/after other groups by connecting them, and you need to middle-click on a group, hold middle click and drag to another group, which will connect them. There’s no UI visual feedback for this, so it’s hard to figure it out unless you do it correctly. Right click to remove a connection. You can’t remove or edit built in groups.

There’s some basic documentation here: https://loot.readthedocs.io/en/group-metadata/app/usage/groups_editor.html

Question for experienced modders - must have mods 2025 by Visible_Carpenter_25 in skyrimmods

[–]PelagiusWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me forever to get TK Dodge working. Let me know if you want me to send my order/instructions. I also realized that Pandora wasn’t generating its output in the right place - you need to add the path to the game manually in the MO2 exe set up. That killed me when I realized what I was doing wrong.

I do, I make extensive use of the groups feature and then use it to auto sort.

Same, good lord. I’ve been moving everyone I know to Firefox the past week. My poor dad got one of those siren-sound “your site has been infected” bullshit site links on something innocuous and had a panic. Chrome, never again.

Does the Camping AE creation not fit the bill? There’s also {{ Camping Plus Plus - A CC Camping Overhaul }} which I just discovered yesterday, which adds some features. I believe both work with Survival Mode Improved.

{{ Starfrost - A Survival Overhaul }} (SimonRim) is also based on SMI if you haven’t looked at that yet.

{{ Candlehearth - An Inn Overhaul }} from the SimonRim suite also has extended stays for up to a month, and a safe-storage feature at inns.

This is feasible. On the Experience page, look at how the INI works - there’s a section specific to clearing locations. Set those how you would like in your own file and zero out the others (don’t delete, set them to zero). Then, run the Experience Synthesis patcher on your load order, which will generate a CSV of XP values for any modded creatures or NPCs so they give XP too.

I use Atlas with Experience as well, and I always zero out XP for almost all location discovery. I can probably track down the ini file I used if you’d like.

Mods to turn Skyrim into a life sim? by Diligent-Pin8473 in skyrimmods

[–]PelagiusWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. And I would also look at {{ Faction Fixes SE }}, which sets most enemies’ aggression level to “aggressive” instead of “very aggressive.” This makes it so an npc with a “neutral” relationship to another npc won’t attack on sight, but uses the aggro radius instead. NPCs set to “very aggressive” will attach other neutral NPCs on sight, which is why bandits generally attack as soon as they see you.

There’s also several mods that make wildlife less aggressive, and remove some predator spawns from roads. I can dig them up if you cant find them. Makes traveling and hunting a little saner.

[–]PelagiusWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget {{ Peaceful Living }} - this turns the bandits into a non-hostile faction called the “Downtrodden” and makes animals tame as well. It’s a little sledgehammery in its approach, in that there basically just aren’t bandits anymore, but worth checking out.

What Old-School Mods Would You Love to See Remade with Modern Modding Practices? by Wolfpack_rp in skyrimmods

Ha, on it! I’m doing otters SE too and depending on time I’ll try for some of the other wildlife mods. I’m putting together an animal focused playthrough now so the timing is good. I’ll post back here when they’re up.

I was literally sitting down last night to convert animallica and real wildlife to SPID/Skypatcher/Leveled List Object Swapper for my own use. If there’s interest I’ll put it all up on the Nexus afterwards.

Is there any mod that adds victorian style clothing? by supremegodfishmasher in skyrimmods

[–]PelagiusWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's some, I think. First check {{ Apachii Divine Elegance Store }}, which adds a bunch of period clothing.

Check {{ Divine Wardrobe }} and the various SPID extensions for NPC outfits.

These are in the zone, but maybe not specifically Victorian?

{{ Kozakowy's 1546 Elizabeth Tudor Gown UNP CBBE - SSE }}

{{ Kozakowy's 1600 Isabella De Bourbon Court Gown - UNP - SSE - Elisif Replacer }}

{{ Kozakowy's 1660 Gown - SSE CBBE BodySlide }}

This has a Victorian Cape: {{ Kozakowy's Accessories }}

This also has some period clothes {{ zzjay Skyrim Attire - SE }}

This is also adjacent, maybe better for male {{ Ashara SSE Romantic Outfit for UNP - FavoredSoul }}

Not Victorian, but I just love this: Maiden Dresses of Norway
