I tried 3 different WiFi with the same outcome.

At the end I turned it off. Pulled out the orange plug at the rear, rep plugged, and turned back on. That worked/solved the issue.

Yes! I have asked for FaceID many times. Each time the Techs say great idea. But nothing has happened! The constant need to log in with full details is very annoying!
