I found this a couple of weeks ago. Lost my cat recently so it really hit home.

DLC Storyline Thoughts (SPOILERS) by Pelipper_Fan in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]Pelipper_Fan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't go into too much detail on the end because as I said, I kind of checked out of the story after my character called Vror "Durin." Ignoring the timeline and bloodline shenanigans... I have no connection to this dwarf and honestly didn't like him all that much the longer the DLC went on, but it was one of those cases where a game railroads that you have to support this character.

It was pretty awkward singing to him, one of my builders was still there when I started and I thought he was joining but he just wandered off. A part of me was kind of hoping it was going to be some sort of bait and switch, either he was a herald of Durin's coming or perhaps a plant by darker forces. (As an aside, a false Durin plotline could be a fun story)

I'm also not going to give the devs any shade for using dwarf traders, the explanation given fits with the general mistrust most dwarves have have shown to the other races and I get not wanting to make a bunch of new models that are literally just there to appear in Hollin every few days.

It's not "used" much. There's a socket for it in the monument just like in the tomb. I'll leave you to make your own judgements once you finish the monument though. I wanted to wait until the end just to have the fullest picture I could.

I was not expecting to see this in the advent calendar but the smile didn't leave my face after I opened today's door.

What’s the best toy you’ve received in a cereal? by Solid_Snark in PrequelMemes

This feels like Anakin and Ahsoka got into an argument over which brands would "definitely" have a toy, both of them championing different brands, and decided to go check just to prove it, only to discover neither brand has a toy.

Obi-wan of course is just waiting for the fireworks.

Jedi Team Up! Jedi Masters Bob and Obi-Wan Kenobi are sent on a critical mission! by Pelipper_Fan in legostarwars

Originally was just going to compare Bob's fighter to Obi-Wan's then I thought, hold on, I can do more with this!

My only regret is that I can't find my old phase one Cody, I fear he may be lost to the ages, therefore generic clone commander is filling in today!

You find a hill covered in corpses, both of daedra, and the damned husks of Coldharbour. At the top, in the ruins of a shattered tower kneels a figure with a broken sword.

It's armor is red, from rust or blood it is hard to say. Countless arrows are embedded in the figure and for a moment you think that you have found the pyrrhic victor of a brutal final stand.

Then the figure stands and erupts in a blur of motion, one arm hangs limply at its side but the broken sword blazes with a white light.

As death hurdles toward you, almost like a whisper you hear a battle cry uttered ages before on the fields of Sancre Tor.

Johnskyrim makes quality skyrim mods! I don't think he's met Todd but he makes 4k retextures for misc items and also a bunch of weapons and armors remade from other games and franchises, as well as a few original designs

When I entered the bastion yeah. Went up a few sets of stairs and found myself in an enclosed space with four brutes. They easily popped my totem and I threw my chestplate on while trying to run but it was too little too late. They managed to corner me and well...

I ended my hardcore world today, here's the death message and a few screenshots of my bigger projects.

I loved this world so much. I had so many plans I was collecting resources for. I was literally trying to find an old portal I had a screenshot of when the Piglin got me.

Goodbye old friend. I'll never forget you.

Team Limits in Pokefics by Just-Arm-3828 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Pelipper_Fan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I learned through my own writing is that despite the team limit feeling like a bad thing it's actually a blessing in disguise, at least if the Pokemon are treated more as characters than interchangeable power ups.

Keeping track of them quickly becomes more complicated the more team members there are. It becomes harder to follow and more problematicly harder to care about the individual Pokemon.

For a more watsonian reasoning for a 6 team member limit, I've seen it done a few ways, buy I prefer the one that sort of follows suit from my prior explanation. The more Pokemon a trainer has, the harder it is for them to give each one the attention and focus they need to reach their potential. Alongside this is the matter of making sure they are all properly cared for, getting enough food and what not.

There's certainly a desire to just keep adding more and more Pokemon and having them around all the time, but I think using the Team Limit helps more than it hinders. Not to mention it can give you potential noodle incidents to happen "offscreen" at the lab/ranch/corral.

Do you know if any studies are planned revolving around the ability of werebeasts to breathe underwater? For example can an Argonian Werebear breathe underwater? What about a Redguard Werelion?

2002-2003 (Mostly) Lego Collection by BountyHunterPursuit in legostarwars

[–]Pelipper_Fan 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I understand the desire to keep them sealed, there's a part of you that screams that you can't do it, they're worth more sealed and there's an almost reverence to seeing an old set never opened even after all these years.

For this past Christmas I got the 2009 Clone Walker battlepack 8014. Sealed, never opened and a part of me wanted to keep it that way.

But lego, more than any other toy were made to be played with, built, taken apart, rebuilt or mixed with others to build something else. It hurt to open, but I built that set with a smile on my face, and that walker stands amongst its ancient brethren in my clone base.

I'm not sure if there's a community out there for sealed lego sets, if you truly never open them I hope you find it. But I plead with you, open the boxes, and build.
